We loved this place.
It is a two-story 1820's house beautifully restored and you get the whole thing to yourself! The kitchen is fully-equipped (the owners (who are lovely) leave pastries in the freezer for you to defrost for your breakfast the night before along with milk/cereal/juices), there is tons of information about the area thoughtfully organized in binders on a shelf in the kitchen, the beds are comfy, there is a washer/dryer, there are fluffy towels and locally-made soap in the beautiful bathrooms, interesting books on the shelves and CDs for the player. It is a wonderful place to stay. The kids and I used 2 bedrooms (1 Q and 2 twins), but there was at least one more Q bed available in another closed bedroom. The town of Sperryville is a small rural town and the house is along the river that goes by the town and within easy walking distance of the few establishments there. You can have dinner at the Thornton River Grill, although as others have said, it is not cheap... more
