We stopped here for lunch. The menu was great. I had the crab cakes with fried green tomatoes. Delicious! Other people had the soft shell crab sandwich and the spinach salad with chicken. All were beautifully presented and tasty. A charming historic place, would love to go back and spend more time.

We had the best crab cakes we have ever had here today. Only problem is that they spoiled us for any other, seriously. Great atmosphere, great ambiance, small town that has maintained its charm without sprawl-induced blight. Well worth a visit, and this is the place to stay (and eat).

We were in the town of Smithfiels for a wedding and got to stay at the Inn. A few little glitches with the check in but the room was grand and the breakfast to die for. Staff was nice. Atmoshpere the best. If you are looking for a "One of a kind" place, this is the spot.

Quaint town with gorgeous old homes, lots of fun shops on main street, great walking trail easy to get to on foot from Smithfield inn. The inn is conveniently located downtown.
