We chose to eat here on a whim one night and expected something delicious based on all of the vehicles that are normally outside. This was a huge disappointment. The place is in definite need of a makeover and wasn't very clean, especially the bathroom. I don't know about the hotel part of this, just the restaurant. I had the... More

*Note: we did not stay at the motel, just ate at the restaurant* We came here for lunch and had a good experience. The food was pretty classic southern style with all the sides and fixings. The service was friendly and fast. I ordered a BLT and my husband got the chicken. Everything tasted good, and it was a comfortable... More

We were starving when we passed Lumpkin's (we had no idea how close we were to town with several eating places). You never know when you pass a little place like this what type of food you'll get but there will be no complaints from us. The place was quaint and very clean. My grilled cheese was perfection (how did... More

Pleasant surprise! While on a historical trip through Virginia, we happened upon this restaurant/motel and thought we would give it a try. The food was very good. Nothing I would rave about alone but very good. The atmosphere and locals were very welcoming. I come from a small town and it was very similar and warm. It was 2 to... More

It is a peaceful little place with 4 motel rooms and a restaurant with good food---the breakfast here is outstanding no matter what you get.The rooms are clean, nothing fancy just comfortable. There are not many amenities except for a good night's sleep and your money well spent. We love this little place.

Dinner styled 'old school 'restaurant that all the locals hang out to catch up on all the local news. Great breakfast for early in the morning (good omelet). Will definitely visit again when driving through Scottsvile.

You can't miss Lumpkin's as you drive down Virginia Highway 20. Just look for the big chicken on the front lawn. The food was just OK, but the other patrons who were there for lunch, the lunch bunch", welcoming and friendly. They brightened a cold, wet, spring day. If 85 year old Red is there for lunch, be sure to... More

My friend and I stayed 2 nights at Mrs. Lumpkins' in a room that was clean and priced right. There was a microwave and small frig in the room. We had one twin and one full bed-both were clean but not fancy. Kinda like staying at Grandma's. There were no bells and whistles in the bathroom- no hairdryer-no shampoo...there was... More

If you drive through Scottsville on Rt. 20, you no doubt will not be able to miss the large rooster in front of Lumpkins restaurant. I am not sure when Lumpkins opened but it has been in Scottsville as long as I can remember, which says alot as restaurants in our small town seem to come and go. The food... More
