From the start the staff was incredibly rude. I called to reserve two rooms, adjoining with a dog. The receptionist was rude, and short with me and said the adjoining rooms couldn't be guaranteed. Our room was beyond disgusting there was a funny smell and the bathtub didny look clean at all and to flush the toilet we had to keep the handle down.. Negatives - The entry door handle fell off upon entering the room, so we had to request a new room. the room smelled bad. cigarette burn in the blanket on the bed. bathtub was crooked (on a slant). positive - the beds were comfy and the staff was friendly

After a unexpected longer drive than we anticipated we needed a hotel. The Hilton chain hotels are our first choice but it was late and rainy. Repeated calls turned up empty. Not the place I would stay if I was doing more than just sleeping. The room was ok but not very clean. The bathroom was in desperate need of a makeover. This Days Inn in Carmel Church was disgusting. We stayed here one night to be close to Kingsdominion and the closer hotels were booked solid. The lobby smelled terrible and the room was gross. The door to our room would only open if you thrust your shoulder into it from outside or braced your foot on the jamb for leverage... More
