My wife and I decided to stop in Roanoke on our way back to Florida from our wedding/honeymoon in New York. I spoke with a classmate of mine from college who is from the Roanoke area and asked his opinion on hotels in the area. He highly recommended the Hotel Roanoke. I guess it was taken over by Doubletree not... more

A gorgeous, historic hotel located in downtown Roanoke. The recent room remodel freshened up and modernized the rooms, while the rest of the hotel remains beautiful. Luxe lobbies and seating areas are wonderful for visiting with friends rather than sitting in the room. The front portacul has a porch with rocking chairs where the fireworks from July 4th were easily... more

We apologize for the inconvenience experienced with the mini-fridge, that is not acceptable on our end and we will share this with our staff. We value your comments. This was my third stay here. It is very active as a conference center. It has a complimentary shuttle to the Roanoke Airport (trip takes about 15 minutes). The rooms that I have stayed in were all different. It seems that none of the rooms in this vast hotel complex are exactly the same. My rooms were clean and exquisitely... more

My husband and I took a weekend trip to Roanoke, Virginia. We stayed at the Hotel Roanoke. It was a beautiful hotel and gorgeous surroundings. The town itself was small and quaint - not a lot to do within the town but we went to some great restaurants. You just have to look for them! more

We stayed just one night (wish it could have been more) on the Train Lover's Package. It was just wonderful: the greetings and service from all the staff, the cookies, the room, the breakfast, the location. The Pine Room Pub was delightful and the Regency dining room was lovely. This is what I think a hotel should be. We'll be... more

We do have a few different configurations of guest rooms and bathrooms and some do have the pedestal sinks, while others have added counter space. We are glad you were able...

I am very picky, probably too picky. I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Roanoke. My room was spacious, clean and everything functioned well. The only complaint was the bathroom sink - it was a pedestal sink and there was no where to put my flat iron, face routine, creams, all the woman-stuff. Fortunately there was a round table in... more

Stayed here over the Labor Day weekend with my wfie and 4 year old daughter. Could not have asked for anything better. Tons of history and friendly staff made for an enjoyable stay. Warm cookies upon arrival are a nice touch. Also, take advantage of the free shuttle to/from restaurants or shopping. There were several weddings taking place at the... more

We stayed in the Hotel Roanoke last weekend and were very happy with our stay...and we are picky! What we loved most is the ambience, with lovely sitting areas in the lobby, and rocking chairs on the porch, cozy bar area and porches everywhere. The hotel is absolutely huge, and grounds are pretty, with a walkway over the railroad tracks... more

Parking is $7/night (self parking); valet parking is $12/night; complimentary coffee isn't complimentary... you fix it yourself for $1.50/cup; in-room wireless isn't free... it's $9.95/night. Worst part... the bathrooms don't have any ventilation... the vents for the fans are blocked. Go figure. Shower steam and smells go right into the sleeping area. Disgusting and embarrassing. Way overrated and overpriced. We... more
