Lynne and Phil Blaker are the consumate hosts as well as the restorers of this early 18th century property framed by rolling hills, large pond, and mature timber. Grant chased Lee's troops toward Appomattox Courthouse along the still visible and used dirt road lined with century-old Chestnut fencing. The "kitchen" for the big house was converted to a two-bedroom log cabin with modern conveniences; meals were served in an early American setting and extremely tasty. The hosts made every effort to take care of us and show off the orginial early 1800's home. This overnight stay was the highlight of our 8-day trip to Virginia.
