Very, very accommodating and polite staff. I was in a bit of a pickle and they really helped me out. Hospitality is still alive and well in this day and age! Love the pet-friendly policy, too. Thank you thank you thank you!!

My boyfriend and I just stayed here for the Labor Weekend. We knew we were saving a lot of money but not staying right in the immediate VA Beach area. The room was only $92 per night and only about 20 minutes away from the beach. The outside looks a bit run down and at first we were thinking, "Oh... More

We always stay at the renaissance when we need a weekend getaway, but they were booked. This hotel came up and the reviews were favorable so we gave it a shot and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and has been updated and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room (King efficiency) was very clean and... More

Room was clean-floor, bathroom etc.. One of the lights in the bathroom was missing a bulb and one of the lamps in the room was broken. We were on the 7th floor but heard noises from the streets below, mainly people in the pub or restaurants.. Hallway has old, musky smell.

I liked this hotel. It is in an older part of the city, so it was a bit of a step back in time. But I liked it. The service was stellar. They helped with our bags, and watched to make sure we made it safely from the parking lot to our rooms. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and nicely... More

I thought this was a quaint, older historic hotel. We got horrible service, no amenities and horrible conditions. We were greeted by drunks in the lobby. The clerk announced our room number in front of these drunks. When we finally got to our room the light in the bathroom was burned out. WE had to change rooms after traveling all... More

A fellow employee and I needed to spend the week at the Norfolk Naval Ship Yard in Portsmouth VA. We wanted a place that allowed convenient access to the ship yard and this was the closest decent option. We were the only two on our floor and it appeared that there were very few guests. As others have posted this... More

My husband and I planned a weekend getaway trip to Virginia and found this hotel at a good rate. At first I was reluctant to stay here because I never heard of this hotel. However, when I entered the lobby I knew this place was going to be nice and comfortable for my husband and I. The room was very... More

Not the ideal location for business travel. Traffic is horrible. Have to lug bags up steps into lobby. Had no hot water.

We had an odd feeling about this hotel. The outside of the building is fairly nice, not much detailing, but OK. Check in was a not bad, the lady was a bit harried but was quite pleasant. Our room was nicely laid out and clean and the bed was comfortable enough but with only 2 envelope pillows. We requested additional... More
