I made reservations as a stop over on my way from NJ to Savannah. From the reviews it seemed to be clean and there was a restaurant on the premises. A week later I called to check on the proximity of the room to the restaurant and I was told that the restaurant was closed. I asked if it was... more

I was traveling for work and on a budget...against friend's advice, I selected the Holiday Inn Old Town over the nearby Renaissance only because the Holiday Inn had free hi-speed internet...huge mistake!! The minute you walk in the door (which creeks like a haunted house) you know you made a mistake. The staff at the front desk is anywhere from... more

We booked the hotel because of its pet-friendly policy. We were a bit adamant because of the reviews here. However, I am glad we booked with this hotel. When we arrived, the hotel was full because of some activity and we wanted a connecting room, but there was none available. The lady at the desk (wish I have written down... more

Mainly booked this Holiday-Inn because of it being "pet friendly". Booked king size room. The bed had seen it's better days!!! As a matter of fact, the whole room had seen its better days!! Couch dingy, ripped and old. The bed VERY saggy and no support at all. Only thing were that the pillows very comfortable. View of the front... more

Superb location to get to any area in Hampton Roads easily; especially to Norfolk because you can just take the ferry over for $1 each way. Quick and easy check-in and check-out. Complimentary fresh-baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies upon arrival. Great customer service. (after all, "Portsmouth is for people...") Non-river view rooms lack light because your view will be of a... more

Our three nights at this hotel 14-16 August were enhanced by the ever changing view of the river from our large window. The room was clean with plenty of room for all our bags. We were on the third floor directly over the restaurant. The front desk is not easy to reach from the waterfront side of the hotel -... more

At this Holiday Inn for an extended stay in June 2007. Staff at front desk were accommodating. Bed was adequate with lots of comfy pillows. Room was quiet at least 80% of the time. Restaurant (breakfast) was pretty good. Parking was O.K. too. The location is fine and convenient. HOWEVER, the elevators are slow - so I tended to use... more

Had the opportunity to travel this past week, to Portsmouth VA. We stayed near downtown Portsmouth at the Holiday Inn - Olde Town. Could not have picked a better location, better room (king-size), or price. The staff was courteous and efficient, the bed was comfortable, and the room was cleaned to perfection daily. Our only complaint was that we couldn't... more

There are Holiday Inns and then there are Holiday Inns. I suspect this one was once a Days Inn or a Comfort Inn. We stayed here for a five day conference that was held in the Rennaissance Marriot nearby. Maybe it was the contrast between the two hotels and staff, but the Holiday Inn suffered by comparison. Our room was... more

Several of us booked a room at this hotel to avoid having to drink & drive after a company party. Not a single person complained about the appearance on cleanliness of the room. Every comment about the room was positive. It was great & we would definitely stay there again. more
