You know when somebody meets a celebrity and they say "I'm never going to wash my hand again!" That's kind of what's going on with MLHotel and Dirty Dancing. We stayed in the main hotel. The room was small, dusty and outdated. Walls are paper thin. Heater sounded like a Pinto with a hole in the exhaust. No TV. Cheap... More

Over all disappointed. The place is showing signs of wear with a poor attempt to up keep. No TV in rooms, no AC in rooms. Out plan included meals and the quality of meal and level of service did not meet expectations. The Sunday brunch however was very nice. The staffs at the recreation desk were very helpful (Thank you... More

What super cool place! It is a must see for any Dirty Dancing fan. The tour is great and it is quite interesting to hear the stories and see the sights. The resort itself is so much more than the hotel. There are tons of cabins and logdes to stay in. We were in Chestnut Lodge. It slept 5 very... More

A friend and I like to dance, love the mountains, and thought we'd try this special weekend at Mountain Lake. What a beautiful place! Yes, some of the decor in our cottage was older and outdated, but everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. We stayed in one part of a duplex - the other side was not occupied,... More

My wife and I have now vacationed here for five years in a row. We have stayed in the Maybrook cabin for the past four years, primarily because of the wonderful view of the property. The lake (almost non-existent) is not the main attraction for us. What brings us back is the peacefulness, friendly staff, and good food. The hiking... More

We have been visiting Mountain Lake for 20 years and during that period it may have lost it's lake, but not it's charm...Excellent food, very helpful and friendly staff and acres of quiet, cool, and beautiful mountains to walk, hike or sit in a rocker and admire...We were there mid August and it was 35 degrees cooler than our coastal... We love this place. Yes, the decline in the volumne of water in the lake has hurt their business, and the physical plant could use a makeover, but the hotel staff couldn't have been nicer. We stayed at the new cabins on Blueberry Ridge and they are outstanding. Full Kitchen, every bedroom with a bath, comfortable and new furniture, a... More

Just went to see where Dirty Dancing was filmed while on a roadtrip with girlfriends. Beautiful drive up into the mountain ,air was fresh just after a small rain shower. I must admit, after reading 2010 and 2011 reviews, I was a little skeptical about visiting Mountain Lake Hotel. Much to my surprise, it was very nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful - rooms were nice and clean - buffet style meals were very tasty with a large selection. Staff in the dining room were more than helpful and... More
