We stayed at Mountain Lake, for one their Dirty Dancing weekends and had an amazing weekend. Firstly the resort, Mountain Lake resort is in an amazing location, the whole area is just stunning. Yes, sad that the lake has all but disappeared, but this really does not detract from the stunning scenery - don't let the lake situation put you... More

We stayed here for 3 nights while attending a nearby wedding. As some reviews have said, alter your expectations from 'luxury' to moderate. The rooms in the lodge are average. Bathroom is small with very little place to put toiletries. Hand soap dispenser is mounted half way across the bathroom from the sink. Towels are nice and very comfortable bed... More

We stayed at this hide away hotel for VT football game. We had a great time. We took our son (a VT freshmen) to Harvest for his birthday dinner. It was wonderful. The staff are so accommodating and the food was very good. The atmosphere needs a little "extra' something (like candles on the table) but other than that it... More

Stayed one night but wish I had more time. The lodge is gorgeous. The grounds are as well. The lake is gone but there is so much beauty, it didn't matter. The staff was helpful and kind. We walked all over the property and found everything in good order. No a/c but each room has fans that can be placed... More

First of all I want to say we came for my birthday day because I loved the Dirty Dancing Movie. I was disappointed that the lake was almost completely dried up and all the signs for the Dirty Dancing location were taken down I also could not locate the map that they hand out to people there was one on... You just need to know what you're getting into. We were made aware of the Lodge via a Travelzoo promotion, which lists the property as a "resort" that "recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation". I shudder to think what the property looked like pre-renovation. Some things to consider before you book - - you're not staying at a resort. You're staying... More

The overall experience of the facility was were exciting. The grounds, facility and views were remembrances of a fairy tail story. Rustic, charming with modern upgrades. Plenty of activities for any family or just for a quiet retreat. We were there to celebrate my granddaughters' birthday. 2 cabins were reserved for the entire family.

What a beautiful area of Virginia. The hotel is old but nicely maintained. New carpeting and bedding in all the rooms. The bathrooms need some updating, but were not an issue. The staff couldn't have been any nicer. The grounds are just beautiful and if you were a lover of Dirty Dancing the movie, you'll be very excited to see... More

Did a day visit with a friend... We were basing our trip out of Roanoke and drove up to Mountain Lake Lodge for the day. We walked the lake trail around what was the perimeter of the lake. The place must have been gorgeous with the lake. The gazebo is falling apart....its on the edge of what was the lake...now... More
