This inn was recommended to us by friends who have frequented this B&B for several years. We stayed in the School House (Lafayette Room) and I think that the room is just stunning and very comfortable. The views from the back porch over the garden (the restaurant team was harvesting for dinner!) and the fields beyond were beautiful, even with... More

We chose The Ashby Inn over its nearby competition for an All Hallows Eve night. The Inn is well decorated inside and out for Autumn Harvest, including some of the most colorful and unique gourds we've seen. For appetizers my wife chose the confit of duck and I the smoked king salmon, Both were exquisitely presented and paired with ideal... More

The Ashby Inn is one of our favorite Virginia Inns and we have stayed there several times over the past few years. Although the rooms in the Schoolhouse are more spacious, we prefer the décor and convenience of staying in the Main House. The décor is colonial, but the beds and the chairs in the rooms are quite comfortable. The... More

I have been meaning to write about the Ashby for a long time. We have stayed at the Ashby Inn at least 18 times -- beginning with our 10th anniversary and adding a few Valentines Days stays......We always stay in the School House, 30 yards down the charming little road from the main inn, in the Glasscock room because it... What a delight, fabulous mountain and valley views, exquisite, exquisite, every single inch.... The Fireplace room we have is ever so pleasant. The high bed with probably 20 inch thick mattress is sooo sleep inducesing.... What a great establishment. The ever ending extremely well kept grounds are breath taking,to say the lest. Staff who KNOW what hospitality is and knows how to carry... More

This is a pretty nice place to stay if you are looking for a room in the area. I must say that it does lack some of the charm and atmosphere of the B & B's that we usually pick. It is run more like it's name implies as an inn but, a very nice inn. The room was nice... More

The Ashby was pretty much wonderful in all regards. This is the second TripAdvisor review I've ever written, but I wanted to make sure that the place gets its due recognition. It's the perfect place for a weekend getaway in the woods. It's a small inn, so you really feel like you're in someone's house as a guest. The rooms... More

The day couldn't have been more perfect, the food, the wine and the weather. I had not been to the Ashby Inn in many years and knew it would be beautiful, but the 5 star food and service far surpassed my expectations. The 3 course brunch menu has something for everyone and the presentation was supurb.I can't wait to go... More

I was very excited to try this restaurant for Mother's Day brunch. I had heard it was a great brunch destination, and the reviews seemed to support that. When we arrived I continued to have high hopes as it was a fabulous spring day, and the view from the patio was charming. The first clue was the apple sodas they... More

My hubby and I had a lovely overnight stay at the Ashby Inn. It is lovely and the views and ground are so pretty. The bed was very comfortable. The food is absolutely amazing! A foodie's idea of divine. Creative, gorgeously presented, fresh and wonderfully delicious. Highly recommended. The wine selections are very nice as well. If the weather is... More
