This is more than a regular stay; it feels like you are personally pampered and attended too yet they manage to give you the perfect amount of privacy and space. Stunning views; excellent rooms and Glennis made us a fantastic dinner. The food is excellent. I would highly recommend this to anyone; I've done a lot of travelling and this... More

They ask for min 200 words for this review , but one is really enough -- amazing. Glennis and Yogi were fantastic Star from a warm welcome through fabulous breakfasts and superb dinners , along with unlimited great wines. Room was very comfortable , but the view from the terrace is out of this world. We stayed 5 nights at... More

We spent 2 nights in this beautiful, tranquil setting. The facility is lovely. Guest rooms are very nice in terms of space and design. Beds are perfect. View of the bay is as good as it gets from both the guest rooms and the main deck of the living area. We didn't have dinner at Sanctuary but breakfasts were good,... More

We spent 3 nights at the Sanctuary at the end of Febuary. 2 couples, 2 rooms. Our hosts, Glennis and Yoggi, were endlessly attentive and helpful. Breakfasts were excellent, fruit, yogurt, cereal and cooked. Especially tasty we're the various freshly stewed fruits. Glennis is a good cook, we had 2 nice dinners at the Sanctuary with good NZ wines. Large... More

If we could give 6 circles for outstanding, The Sanctuary would easily earn them. From the moment you go through the door, see the view and are welcomed to your home for the next however many days... just WOW! Glennis and Yogi make you feel at home right from the start; suggestions for trips out or things to do are... More

We just spent two lovely nights here in January. It's setting is wonderful with immense views over Pahia and Russel. The hosts greet you and welcome you to their home. Your room is private and well appointed and it's easy to feel secluded. However take the opportunity (if you want) to mix and mingle with your fellow guests over a... More

My husband and went here to catch up with ourselves after the long flight from LAX and to begin our 3 week adventure to New Zealand. Glennis and Yogi gave us a wonderful room with extraordinary views on the lower floor. It was quiet and serene. Glennis cooked us dinner on the 1st night. The food was wonderful and it... More

We stayed at The Sanctuary in December 2013. If you like fantastic food, good wine, and meeting wonderful people this is place. Our every need was taken care of without even asking. We will definitely return to New Zealand and this will be on our list. Thanks to Glennis & Yogi for a wonderful stay.

We were welcomed by our two hosts at this breathtaking views out on the bay of islands. We went to the boat, which they booked quite efficiently for us. After that we had dinner and drinks, which was lovely cooked by Glennis. We had a nice group of people at the dinner table, so we went to bed relaxed. The... More
