Stayed in one of the gypsy caravans at this place and it was amazing. Comfortable, heated, and the view (over the river) was outstanding. It had an outdoor bathtub with a mosquito net for a bath under the stars, and the owners went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and special. I can't recommend it highly enough.... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights in a camper and enjoyed the ambiance of this establishment, the ground are lovely. The other facilities are quirky with touches that take above practical and functional, enjoyable. Recommended

We had no idea what to expect from our fairly last minute Easter getaway when we booked a 'gypsy caravan' at Pagoda Lodge. The website promises a romantic setting and we weren't disappointed. The caravan is cosy, comfortable and a little bit different in a very good way! Tucked away in a peaceful setting with great gardens and awesome little... More

We came with a camper-van, as to a campground, but from the first step fell in love with THE place, so took one of those charming spots as ours for small time. Magic, peaceful, lovely spot, for couple who looks for something different from everything around NZ. Junky-wagon, our spot for night, with huge amount of soft pillows, cozy blankets,... More

We weren't sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by the Pagoda Lodge. We stayed in the safari tent which was very comfortable and more than met our needs. It was most definitely relaxing sitting outside the tent and having our breakfast.

What a lovely, peaceful stay. By far the nicest motor camp I've ever stayed at. And the best linens of anyplace ever! If you want room service and butler service, go elsewhere. If you want nature, peace, character and the luxury of an outdoor bath under the stars in paradise, head for Pagoda Lodge.

Pro: We stayed in one of those really cute little caravans, with an outdoor bath and private deck on the river... for $120 per night you can't really dream better deal and experience in the Northland Cons: Shared bathrooms were a bit rustic, but good enough not to be a problem

The garden by the inlet is lovely and promised a lot. We stayed in one of the lodge units. For the price we expected good facilites. Quirky? Yes. However the unit had not been aired or cleaned or dusted. There were swathes of cobwebs behind the curtains and dust lay thick around the skirting boards. We had to ask for... More

Went there with no idea what to expect. Don't want to preempt others' experience as one needs to be there to know how different it is than the usual accommodation. Facilities and amenities are very basic but then again its part of the whole experience.

First time "glamping", stayed in a safari tent, double bed, fridge, great deck to watch the world go by. Shared cooking facilities, showers and toilets, mall super lean, plenty of hot water. An amazing place to be in the evening, glass of wine on the deck, listen to the birds chirping and look up at the starry sky. Owners were very... More
