We stayed here for 4 nights over winter. The weather was appalling but to be honest it didn't bother us at all, it added to the experience. We turned the heater on and sat looking out at the view all nice and cosy. One night we took the kids for a spa with the rain pouring rain which was a... More

I have to travel up North quite a bit for my business and have now reached the point where I won't stay anywhere else. This place is just heaven. Entering one of the cottages after a hard days work is like paradise. The beautiful decor, the massive and so very comfortable four poster bed is just magical. And the surrounding... More

We stayed at Avalon for our honeymoon and loved it. The grounds are lovely complete with ponds, ducks, goats and pigs. The1 owner was very welcoming and the cottages were very well appointed. We'll definitely be back!

The bungalows here are perfect to stay in for exploring the far north of North Island. The bungalows are spacious (we were in "Water") with a covered verandah and outside garden space to relax in. Very helpful and pleasant owners. Extensive gardens with a river at the bottom of the property. A good days drive to Cape Reinga/90 mile beach... More

Two couples stayed for 3 nights in January, 2014. We were really impressed with this place. It was clean and very comfortable. Our friends had the bedroom and my husband and I had the couches in the living room. They were actually quite comfortable! We both slept very well. Loved being able to cook for ourselves and enjoyed using the... More

From the moment you enter the beautifully landscaped grounds and spot the goats and pet pigs you know that this is a lovingly tended project. We stayed in two of the rooms with our friends, opposite the spa and the natural spring pool. Everything was perfect and Willem couldn't do enough to make our stay as comfortable as it could... More

Myself and my husband stayed here on our honeymoon in September of this year. We were spending three weeks travelling around NZ and our time as Kerikeri really stood out - thanks to the fabulous accomodation, the wonderful host Williem, the beautiful setting and the lovely feel of the Avalon Resort. We were staying in one of the cottages and... More
