This Motel was pretty much what I expected for its rating and price. We were there in the low season, so it was quiet with most rooms vacant. The owners were polite but not as friendly as I had hoped, not that they were in any way rude. We ordered breakfast one morning only during our stay, and when I... more

Quite surprised to find that the hotel was a block or so from the shore as views were promised from all units. We had a garden unit and found it to be very dark with cigarette smoke drifting in from the people smoking outside their unit next door. There was a glimpse of the sea. I can see that an... more

We stayed for 3 nights in the Admiral's View Lodge. It was just the start of the season in Paihia so things were a little quiet. It's a small family run place that feels very relaxed. The owners were very nice and offered lots of good advice on what to do and where to eat. We had an upstairs room... more

We drove up to Paihia from Auckland, and spent two nights at the Admiral's View Lodge. My mom and I took one of the deluxe rooms (private balcony, huge spa jacuzzi tub) and my daughter and boyfriend shared the other. These two rooms look out over the Bay of Islands, and share a balcony. We were surprised to find full... more

I stayed in 8 different motels/lodges during my 3 week visit to NZ and the Admiral's View was by far the best accommodation. It was very clean and bright and the staff were really friendly. The lodge is set back from the water (about a 5 minute walk), but the view from our balcony was great. I felt very comfortable... more

Arrived in the evening to find somewhere and came across Admirals View - set back a bit from the beach in Paihia but with lovely views out across the bay. The family run lodge was well appointed and the room we picked was one on the front, and was a deluxe room for NZ$185. It was worth this as we... more

We are going to have our fifth visit to this motel in December. Being retired people we spend a lot of our leisure time travelling both the North and South Islands. We stay in many different motels but always with a rating of four stars or over. In our view, this motel offers the best facilities in New Zealand and... more

Just to say that you could have little to complain about with this motel. Motels in this part of the world are invariably very hit and miss. This one is certainly a hit!!! It has a qualmark 5* rating which I think means quite a lot. I got a great room with a balcony overlooking the sea for 175 NZ... more

Admiral's view is a nice little hotel, we stayed there our first night in NZ. Not much of a view from the lower rooms. The hosts let us keep our car parked there for the day while we went diving (after we checked out), which was nice. They have a small breakfast available each morning. more

Staying in the Admirals View Lodge was the highlight of our New Zealand trip. We spent 5 nights in this beautiful motel. It was immaculately clean, reasonably priced and the owners were wonderfully helpfull and friendly. Paihia itself is a wonderfull place and is within easy visiting distances of Russell and Opua. Its a sailors paradise with consistent sea breezes... more
