Hardboard floors, 'vintage' power sockets and water faucets ... you get the idea. Malcolm and Megan took over this place only a few months ago, without any prior b&b experience, and succeeding extremely well at providig their guests with a class act and superb service. A nice glass of wine and home made nibbles prior dinner, and a great breakfast.... More

This is an old house done up beautifully. There are 4 or 5 double bedrooms each with its on bathroom. There is a large outdoor table overlooking a wine yard which is perfect for relaxing with a wine or the newspaper. Breakfast was well cooked and served at a large table in the dining room. Our room was lovely with... More

My wife and I spent a night here recently and had Avery nice time. We selected it as it is number 1 B&B on TA. It is a lovely old place with new owners and overall very good. Missed a 5 star from us because no shampoo or bathrobes and nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. New owners just... More

We've just enjoyed 2 nights at The Old Manse in Martinborough. I haven't had much recent experience in a B&B so wasn't sure what to expect. Our warm welcome and tour of the well appointed facility didn't disappoint. Our room was large with gigantic windows overlooking a closeby vineyard. We were invited to join our hosts for a glass or... More

We stopped off in Martinborough on our way home from Wellington. The B&B had recently been taken over by 2 new owners (Malcolm & Megan) who are doing a great job. The minute we arrived we felt so relaxed in this tranquil setting right next to a vineyard. The B&B is an old converted rectory and has retained many of... More

We stayed here for a Saturday night in February 2015 with relatives from the UK. This was our fourth stay at The Old Manse - the first with new owners Megan & Malcolm. Our last stays have been wonderful and I was nervous about what to expect - but I shouldn't have worried. Megan & Malcolm have retained the complimentary... More

If you had to create the perfect B&B experience this would be it.. Dusty and tired we lugged our suitcases over the threshold to find a perfect sanctuary, romantic wrought iron bed and a long hot bath in clawfoot tub. Our spirits revived we were invited to an informal sips and dips on the porch overlooking the neighboring vineyards. Malcolm... More

Stayed there as a couple for one night during the week. We found Meg and Malcolm very accommodating and genuinely such nice people. If you like old world home stay and charm, then this is the place foe you. The home is just amazing and so beautfully furnished, then, sourrounded by wineries, great restaurants and it's perfect for a couples... More

We stayed here 2 nights, but have stayed here 3 or 4 times before in the last 10 years. The new owners Megan and Malcolm, are doing a very good job, and are very friendly and welcoming. This is an old (and beautifully refurbished) house with wooden floorboards - and the noise levels very much depend on how considerate other... More

Martinborough is a quiet little place where the only disturbance is the sound of the vines growing. The Old Manse sits on a corner by rows of potential Pinot Noir. We were welcomed by Malcolm the new owner and invited to choose a room as we were the only guests. He then said that drinks and nibbles would be served... More
