Only stayed one night but it was excellent and we will be back, we hope Bruce makes his dream come true with his wine tasting tours with a tuk tuk.. There was very Little tofault only a few Suggestions to make this even more perfect, the gravel path should be paved, and do not laugh but we could have done... More

We have just spent the weekend at this wonderful venue. Superb! Martinborough is a great place to visit and Alystone is part of one of New Zealand's best spots. Lovely rooms and a wonderful breakfast. Thank you for a wonderful experience, the greatest hosts ever!

It is a “retreat” from the hustle & bustle of everyday living, giving a quiet, peaceful time to reflect, sit up on the roof turret lookout, enjoy a glass of something you just purchased! survey the acres of vines in every direction and decide which winery to visit next; a cup of tea on your own balcony or if it... My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this lovely boutique hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. Our hosts Bruce & Denise were very friendly and hospitable. They provided us with super feedback on where to dine, wine, and rent cycles to visit the wineries. Thank you Bruce & Denise for a... More

I booked a surprise weekend away for my husband and I on our first anniversary, and we absolutely loved Aylstone Retreat. The host was friendly and happily gave us advice on things to do and see in Martinborough; the room was gorgeous and comfortable; and we had a lovely private courtyard to drink our local pinot noir in. We had... More

In the Aylstone we found an excellent boutique retreat experience in Martinborough.. An idyllic setting amongst the various vineyards in an already stunning area and within very short walking distance from the town square this little gem is a true winner.. Not only does it look picture perfect with a colonial feel and spacious bedrooms, which are bright and immaculately... More

Every accommodation was made to ensure we had a lovely visit. It's all in the personal touch and Denise and Bruce get it all right! From the immaculate, quiet room, delicious breakfast, sweet room finishes and great conversation, it was all perfect. As we ventured out to dinner, we were sent off on bikes and given recommendations to Micro Wine... More

We stayed at Aylestone Boutique Retreat for two nights as part of our five week NZ trip. Bruce met us on arrival and was absolutely lovely. He showed us round and because he and Denise had decided to close for a few days, told us we were the only ones there and gave us a room upgrade! They are justifiably... More

Bruce and Denise were lovely hosts.Beautifull B and B in the heart of wine country. We found a couple of other things to do that we would really recommend. Drive to Cape palliser to see the fur seals and from there to the Lake Ferry hotel for the fish and chips, beer, and the view.
