From the moment we arrived Aylstone exceeded our expectations. The welcome was super friendly and the room was loverly and was full of little surprises. Everything had been thought of, including all the little extras. We will be back and suggest you spend some time here if you are heading to martinborough.

Stayed for 2 nights over the Anzac weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back. The rooms were well serviced and it was full of lovely little touches like free chocolates, lollies and nuts...no mini bar charges for these which was great! We stayed in the Venice room which was very comfortable and had a lovely deck... More

Aylstone is about 400m from the town boundary, adjacent one of the more popular local wineries. There are only 7 rooms, and reception wasn't always manned during our stay, but that didn't really matter. Room furnishing is very nice, bathroom could have benefited from a vanity unit to put our personal toiletries on, but was fine otherwise. Enjoyed our stay,... More

The Aylstone Boutique Retreat was the perfect place to stay to enjoy everything that Martinborough had to offer. We arrived way earlier than we had meant to and we were able to get straight in to the room. Our lovely host even gave us a run-down of the best vineyards in the area and the best way of making our... More

We booked Aylstone based on the reviews written on TripAdvisor, and we were certainly not disappointed. The room we had, The Venice Room, was just superb. Being able to sit out on the deck, or even on the grass outside, whilst taking in an amazing view, partaking in a lovely bottle of local wine is just the best feeling. The... More

We booked this Alystone as a little bit of luxury on a whirlwind visit to Wellington and Martinborough and overall it didnt disappoint, the building is gorgeous, all the rooms looked beautiful, the lady who helped us checkin and leave bags early was very helpful, giving tips on where to eat, where to visit etc. we stopped in the broadway... We are in Martinborough for wine tasting and what a lovely place to stay. Marian is absolutely lovely, she made us feel so welcome, we could have chatted with her for hours. The room was lovely, decorated in black and white. The bed was comfy and I got a piece of dark chocolate on my pillow each night, she won... More

Had a fantastic time at the Aylstone! Beautiful property quietly nestled between vineyards yet only a stone's throw from the town centre. Great communal areas (petanque anyone?) with bright, spacious and private rooms. Fantastic bed, amazing robes and fabulous little touches everywhere (chocolates & snacks & coffee machine!). Perfect for a couples getaway and also can't beat it for a... More

We selected Aylstone due to location to town and to an event we were attending, also due to its size of the property (not over populated/too many rooms). These factors were key, but the real amazement for me was how welcoming and beautiful it was. Every staff member we encountered was very nice, and the whole property was picturesque. Our... More

My husband and I were at the Alystone two years ago on our honeymoon and we had really enjoyed our experience. To come back two years later and love it more was no easy feat! Thanks to Marianne and the revamp- the beds are new, the rooms are spotless and everything is conveniently laid out for you in your room.... More
