We had a stopover at the Cottesloe Beach Hotel for one night. I'd booked it in advance based on the reviews I'd read. What a mistake!!! I agree the location is excellent and the local facilities including the railway station are great but the hotel itself should be condemned. We stayed at the 'Cot' for 3 nights in May 2008. It is not really a hotel but more like rooms above a pub. The rooms are fairly basic and tired looking but they are clean and the sea views from the balcony were superb. We had read about Cottesloe, a city neach near Perth, and decided we would stay there after a few weeks touring around Australia. It is only 20 minutes by train from Perth.
