You really need to ask specifically for a room with a view if you want a view of the hills/mountains and preferably confirm this in writing as many of the rooms look straight out onto the rooms in the other wing with a view of the hills only if you peer over the balcony. I imagine these rooms would also... More

Stayed at Chateau Yering for a Saturday night and truely loved the experience... Our room was large, with period decorations and a modern bathroom. Saturday night accommodation includes 3 course dinner for two at Eleonor's, their sensational 2 hat restaurant, as well as breakfast the next morning.

My husband and I spent a Saturday night at Chateau Yering as we attended a birthday party in one of the function rooms. The hotel is rather tired, but look past that and enjoy going back in time, with large comfortable furniture in the reception rooms, and a large comfortable bed in our suite. The bathrooms have been modernised, although... More

My husband and I enjoyed the dinner and bed and breakfast package for our wedding anniversary. Very sizeable suites with an outdoor sitting area to enjoy the trees and the birds. We loved the addition of hand-made chocolates and biscotti in the room, as well as a coffee plunger and decent coffee. The wine tasting included the opportunity to taste... More

Spent my husbands birthday at Chateau Yering. It was a sheer delight. The setting is superb, you could not ask for more helpful service and the food was most memorable. Our suite overlooked the Yarra Valley, with distant hills and vineyards. Traditionally decorated but with all mod-cons and some lovely chocolates to greet us. Dinner of Morton bay bugs then... More

Chateau Yering is a gorgeous old hotel. The bar and lounge areas take you back to a different era. The rooms themselves are large and luxurious. The shower was amazing and the bed was very plush and comfortable. Sound travels very easily down the corridors, but that's to be expected for such an old building. Highly recommended.

Every thing about Chateau Yering was inviting, from the rose- bordered driveway to the extravagantly decorated library, and spacious and tastefully decorated room, etc. Service was excellent. We arrived about 10.30 and asked for direction to the farmers market. The hotel called us 15 mins later to let us know our room would be ready in 5 mins. Were were... More

We enjoyed our time here. The rooms were lovely if a little old fashioned, and serviced to a high standard each day. The food was excellent at dinner, imaginative and inventive cuisine. the staff were helpful and friendly. however, breakfast was not so good, served in a depressing dining area which is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The two accomodation... More

My family & I (12 people) stayed over for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The service was shocking, our waitress was terrible, sour ,rude and to make things worse she did not even wish us Merry Christmas. The rooms were ok but the out side was dirty, full of dead insects & cobwebs. Christmas lunch was ordinary for... More
