I stayed at the Walhalla Star Hotel for 3 nights in July and enjoyed a very relaxing stay there. The room was large, had a comfortable bed and a balcony with great views. No TV, but there is a good guest lounge with books and cd's also tea/coffee /wine. In the evening, you can enjoy a fine dinner in the... More

We stopped here for one night and were literally the only guests in the hotel. The hotel itself is very good, the bed was comfortable and the facilities were above the expected standard. We particularly liked being able to get a chilled bottle of wine from the honesty bar and sit on our balcony as the sun went down waiting... More

We stayed at the Star Hotel on the main road in Walhalla and found this to be an excellent choice. We enjoyed a dinner bed and breakfast package and for a cold weather weekend, this was perfect - we could sit around the fire until dinner and then enjoy a terrific meal with a bottle of wine thrown in. Accommodation... More

We stayed at the Star hotel as part of a 2 night package including breakfast, dinner and wine. The hotel itself is clean, room spacious however a little out dated. Meals at the restaurant were nice. There's no internet, TV or radio, so if you like your own alone time this is the place to do. I felt the hosts... More

Thank yo u for your review. Just a note to advise that it looks like we've had a win with Telstra and they are now trying to fix the internet issue that has plagued us for the past few weeks…so fingers crossed that our guest's WiFi system will be back on air shortly. While we do not have TV [and... More

My partner and I stayed 2 nights at the Star Hotel on their dinner and accomodation special. The hotel is very clean and the room was lovely and tastefully designed. Our view of the town was wonderful as we had an upstairs room. The dinner and dessert was delicious, it was a beef and shiraz pie. There was no other... More

Love the Star!!!! Enjoyed a three night stay over Easter. The Star is unique and fits perfectly in the beautiful old gold mining town of Walhalla. Michael and Russell are ideal hosts and add to the relaxed charm of this place. Fantastic food was enjoyed at the restaurant and the absence of television, phones etc was a highlight!! The accomodation... More

We stayed at the Star on a very hot day when the fire risk was extremely high.Walhalla is an interesting place and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The hotel restaurant was closed on the Sunday night we were there and we walked down to the Wally pub for a really tasty meal. Due to the bush fires we had a... More

Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased that you were able to make your way to Melbourne without any fuss and avoid the fire and road closures that were occurring to the south of Walhalla in the LaTrobe Valley. As it happened, this fire became the Morwell Open Cut Coal Mine fire and it burnt for a month cloaking... More
