We recently stayed 2 nights on what is said to be Walhalla's busiest weekend for a long time. The Star Hotel was fabulous! The owners are lovely blokes who know everything about the town and the local area and were happy to assist travellers with all sorts of advice. We had an upstairs room at the back òf the building...spacious,... More

Thank you for your review. Yes Easter is pretty full-on in Walhalla…the Star Hotel however provides a nice source of tranquility from the crowds outside. Even on the busiest weekend on the year it was still quiet. So glad you enjoyed our meals and that your entire stay with us was a most enjoyable one. Russell and I look forward... More

Just back from a few nights at Walhalla"s "Star Hotel". Our room was upstairs overlooking the Rotunda. The room was huge with an en-suite to the side, plenty of hot water but remember the Hotel is on tank-water so be respectful. We dined in the Parker restaurant (Hotel dining room) and found the food most enjoyable with added advantage of... More

Thank you for your review. It's a much overused cliche "hidden gem" but in Walhalla's case it's 100% true! I'm so pleased that you consider the Star Hotel to be one of the best hotel you stayed at in Australia, this certainly puts a smile on my face. Walhalla is certainly not the stock standard Australia you see in travel... More

We stayed 3 nights in early March and were welcomed by a friendly staff member who checked us in quickly and showed us to our room which was large and airy, well furnished and equipped and also very clean. The balcony overlooked the main street and the bandstand. The ensuite was spotless with plenty of hot water which is no... More

A Must do Weekend getaway is to Visit this unique Tourist Village town such a hidden Gem surrounded by fabulous mountains and the early morning mist is a sight to behold. The drive up from Melbourne was absolutely scenic & breathtaking then you arrive in Walhalla. The few towns folk are ever so welcoming and go out of their way... More

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you had the best weekend in Walhalla and at the Star. I'm not 100% sure how the coffee cup are "tinny" as they are the stock standard cups [Bistro & Cafe Tableware] you'll see in almost every hotel and cafe in the country…but each to their own. Sorry you thought the coffee was... More

Spent 2 lovely nights at Walhalla's Star Hotel. Room was spacious, clean, staff friendly and informative and I ate in the in-house restaurant - Parker's - every night, which was superb with a number of choices and a great selection of wines. Breakfast served there too. Definitely recommend Walhalla and the Hotel as a destination, whether as a couple or... More
