First of all, it must be said that full marks go to the pioneer of this place and the love that went into building this retreat. As a retreat it is outstanding. The surrounding forest is pristine, remote and you have it virtually to yourself - priceless. For this it fully deserves a five star rating. The accommodation was between... More

We travelled there from Sydney, through Launceston airport. Got a car rental. 2hrs to get to the lodge. Pluses: - rustic, genuine, isolated. - wildlife, walks. - friendly and helpful staff. Minuses: - rustic, isolated... - wifi is virtually non-existent, and there is no mobile signal (unless you are withTelstra...), - biggest issue is that it is so isolated that... More

We were in one of the four rooms in the main lodge. Shared showers and toilets down the passage. Comfortable double bed and bunk beds that would suit a young family. Basic facilities. The lodge needs to clean the chimney or check if a bird has nested in it as it was very smoky. Great forest walks on site; but... More

We booked this accommodation due to its proximity to Cradle Mountain and vacancy (other accommodation in the area was fully booked). The lodge was only accessible via an 8km gravel road from the main highway. The lodge provided a tree top townhouse in the mid $300 p/n range. It is worth to note that the advertised one bedroom room is... More

This was a beautiful place to stay, very peaceful and super cosy. Loved the log cabins and being tucked away in the bush. The delicious, ample breakfast provided a great start for a day trekking up Cradle Mountain! Keep in mind (and it's my own fault that I never read up on this) that Lemonthyme Lodge is 8km into the... This place is very secluded, 8km down an unsealed road. The road is in good repair but is very narrow so always expect someone to be coming the other way. It's great though because you know you are getting away. The main lodge is an amazing building, fitting the man-made log construction you might dream of. The welcome was friendly... More

We decided to treat ourselves with a few nights in the Cradle Mountain area and we are very glad we did. This place is remote and peaceful. The staff were really friendly upon arrival and we checked in without any problems. The room (we stayed in the spa suite) was great, very spacious, had its own decking overlooking the forest... We arrived at Lemonthyme Lodge in the afternoon after driving directly from Launceston Airport after a very long flight from the UK. We were tired and without our luggage as this got left behind in Melbourne (long story). The receptionist booked us in and told us which cabin we were staying in. We mentioned our luggage would arrive later by... More

This place was awesome and a great escape mid way through our travels. The lodge and accommodation were beautiful. It's located deep within the mountain so you feel very secluded. The bush walks were great and there are two which a suited for kids. We are novices to the bush so it was perfect. The wild life is amazing and... More

This place is a secret little haven! We planned on staying 2 nights but ended up staying an extra two nights because it was simply magical. It is surrounded by trees and all sorts of wildlife. There is an onsite restaurant which we had dinner at each evening and the meals were superb! There are walking tracks around the area,... More
