We had been exploring the Flinders Ranges NP all day and stumbled upon this place. What a find. Really quirky and very old pub. Very friendly, mostly run by overseas travellers but that was fine. Interesting menu and the food was fabulous.

Had been here once before, many years ago and remembered that it was hard choosing a meal (everything on the menu was very 'australian animal' style at the time). Anyway this time everyone at our table LOVED their meal. My dish, Beef Cheeks, (while small and only one cheek) was delicious and faultless. Wish there'd been more... Looking forward to... More

We ate in the restaurant on two nights. The food really is great. The wine list is full of interesting pleasures. Don't be afraid to ask advice: there are really some gems. Jane and her staff are welcoming and warm (which is to be honest more than can be said for the rooms which are basic and ours was a... More

While travelling past the main stretch from Leigh Creek to Hawker, we stopped for a coffee. It was so tasty and had a great supply of souvenirs. The atmosphere was great and the food was great. I would suggest a meal or even just a coffee.

After reading about this Hotel for many years we finally visited it. We drove from Wilpena Pound via the scenic route to visit this Hotel for lunch. We just had to savour the "Feral" plate which consisted of Emu Pate, Goat Cheese, Camel, Kangaroo and Tomato Relish. Everything was delicious. The staff were friendly and they had a good range... After driving through Bunyeroo Valley and Brachina Gorge, Parachilna Hotel was such an apt place to continue the mood of our outback experience and savour the flavours of a truly creative Australian bush tucker menu. The locally painted Australian artworks in the gallery added another dimension to our appreciation of the essence of the Flinders Ranges.

We have stayed at the Prarie hotel twice.Once was in the parachilna overflow area and once in the hotel itself. The overflow area was comfortable to stay in but you get what you pay for. The hotel accomodation was very good indeed.Very spacious rooms.Everyone goes for the feral food at the pub and yes,do it once, but the rest of the... More

Jane and her staff are wonderful! The food here is excellent and worth driving up for just a meal even if you're staying near elsewhere. The room we stayed in was wonderful and had a fantastic spa bathtub. Plenty of space in the room and free tea & coffee in the morning. As mentioned before the food is fantastic -... More

I am a regular visitor to the Flinders Ranges as it is just a wonderful place. Stopped off to visit the Parachilna Pub as we had overseas guests in our group that wanted to see the pub have some food and a drink. The rest of our party were from South Australia. Worst mistake on our trip. Before getting some food... More

The Flinders Ranges are dramatic and austerely beautiful. Visit the Prairie Hotel in the late afternoon to watch the sunset glow on the mountains and stay for dinner. A group of 30 friends of all ages had a wonderful evening here. The food was excellent, the service good and the setting wonderful. If you are anywhere in the vicinity, do... More
