Travelling south to Brisbane from Mackay I didn't leave until late afternoon and decided to stop somewhere for a good rest. I decided to travel as far south as Bororen, so I phoned ahead when I reached Rocky. Karen answered the phone and was very helpful. I told her I was after a motel that had the car park allocation... We were lucky to get the last unit for an over night stay as they are currently upgrading all rooms to an excellent standard. Geoff was very accommodating and next time we might try a meal ( at very reasonable price about $10 cheaper than local hotel) There was a microwave so we heated our own. As a positive the... More

after a very long day driving, i called in to get a room for the night. A smiling friendly face greeted me...not that common these days! The best thing???....the room had a wonderful reclining lounge chair. Perfect after a long day on the road. The bonus of getting free wi fi is terrific. The rooms may be a bit older,... More

We stayed here for one night and found it to be very comfortable and we were happy that our little dog was also welcome. The room rate was very reasonable. The hosts Karen and Geoff are very friendly and helpful. The best thing about our stay were the wonderful meals available. They were delicious and excellently priced and brought to... More

Nice clean and friendly. Half way from mackay to brisbane and a good stop after travelling with kids. Nothing fantastic but covers the need for a bed and rest. A bit noisy up the front as its near the road, minimal meal options

Stayed here a few times on my travel up and down the coast and its quiet, clean and has friendly staff/management. Rooms are pretty basic but have all you need for a quick stopover. Free wifi and a comfortable bed!

Myself and two children PROS: - easy to access and park - impressed by quality and effort to make us feel welcome/comfortable - eg rainwater to drink, free wifi internet in room - dinner was home-cooked, most meals $15 on menu, large size and tasty - Any cosmetic faults were smoothed over by the friendliness and thoughtfulness of the owners... We had the pleasure of pulling into the Bororen motel as upon speaking to Karen the owner we were welcome to bring our little 13 year old dog with us. As a result the experience with both Geoff and Karen couldn't have been a more welcoming. We stayed on our trip both ways from Mackay to Brisbane and back. The... More

After a long drive with tired eyes, the flashing "Bororen Motel" sign was a welcomed sight. When my husband and I stopped, we were greated by the lovely Karen, who was an absolute dear - no problem was too much. Our room was comfortable and clean and the homemade dinner (that was brought to our room!) we had was delicious.... More
