Itatiaia is a wonderful place to stay, the forest and wildlife are fantastic. I have been to Brazil many times and sort of know what to expect in a forest pousada. You will find rustic chalets without comforts such as internet and a decent tv, and you cannot avoid some mustiness and damp feeling in them. Fair enough, but you... More

First of all, the staff here is top notch and do everything possible to help you have a relaxing time. The food was great, and when you look at the price, you have to realize that this is including all of your meals and that driving to get food would be a huge waste of time and gas. The rooms... More

It´s a wonderful place to stay if you want to enjoy the National Park all day. I like it so much. The package included meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). It´s confortable and good to couples.

We were surprised to find a perfect getaway from our hectic life. Beautiful landscapes, charming chalets, delicious food and breakfast. Not a luxurious hotel, but welcoming and unique. Nice National Park - the first in Brazil - and lots of interesting natural sights nearby.

Excelent location, inside the National Park. Old hotel needs maintenance. Cleaning of rooms and even restaurant is bellow any standard.

Our group stayed for 4 nights in this cozy hotel. Nicely situated inside the national park, the hotel offers lots for nature lovers. Good food and flexible staff (we had our pre-dawn breakfasts at 5.00 am) were appreciated by us. With your own transportation it is easy to drive higher up within park. Nature trail behind the small chapel was... More

Cosy hotel in the middle of the Atlantic forest, with trails that take you to waterfalls and through dense vegetation. The management clearly works hard, employees helpful at all turns. Great for a 3 or 4 day visit. Free guides are available and you return to tasty homestyle food and "chalets" with fireplaces stocked with wood. Hot water pool and... More

We had a different experience from Vicbrow. The hotel smells badly of damp and is quite decayed with a natural pool that looks risky to swim in. The chalets are Ok but not inspiring. However the buffet food was quite outstanding of all meals. There were plenty of staff about the hotel but no obvious person in charge. Information about... More

We have just returned from a trip in Brazil and wanted to highlight an unknown but very beautiful and peaceful part of Rio De Janeiro State. We found this the perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of Rio. The place was Itatiaia National Park. An area of Atlantic Cloud Forest and Mountains where you can see more species... More
