As hoteliers ourselves, it is perhaps very difficult to completely turn-off and not appraise other properties. We arrived at Rafles on my wif'e's birthday. Spectacula setting, easy and relaxed, very large beutiguly decorated rooms, very sweet staff, outstanding beach facilities, spectacular golf course, great for families and couples for an easy vacation. Travel from NY is easy, despite connection. more

Canouan is probably 70% occupied by the Raffles Hotel, together with Donald Trump Casino and Trump houses. The balance has another hotel , the airstrip and the village/town, where the locals live and survive! Really great island hotel. Service is friendly and prompt. Food is excellent. The beaches... there are two (and pools) are fantastic! Took tennis lessons and yoga... great gym as well. Great for walking if you choose... or take your personal golf cart to the beach! What fun! Highly reccommended! more

After failing to secure any of my desired choices in the Caribbean for Xmas, Amex suggested the Raffles. Only after booking it, I read the reviews here and was concerned. I am glad we went.
