After arriving on Canouan and experiencing a bouncy ride to the hotel, we were astounded to arrive in such a beautiful resort. The reception area was enough to reassure my father that it was going to be a holiday based around luxury. We had 3 bedrooms in one block, which meant my brother (25), myself (28) and my parents all... more

We went to Raffles Canouan for our honeymoon. We were expected a lot from this luxury hotel chain (that I had the pleasure to experience previously in Singapore) but we were disappointed... To sum up, let's make the good and bad points. GOOD - Landscape : it is true that the island is nice but do not expect the best... more

from the moment you land on canouan island it was absolutely amazing. there were only 22 guests when we got to raffles so it felt like a private island. we had an ocean view one bedroom suit and it was just gorgeous. as it is the turtle island, you sea lots of turtles exploring your back yard while you are... more

As hoteliers ourselves, it is perhaps very difficult to completely turn-off and not appraise other properties. We arrived at Rafles on my wif'e's birthday. The four poster bed had been decorated with ginger lily leaves spelling Happy Birthday and a chocolate birthday cake, fruit basket and bottle of champagne placed thoughtfully in the huge lounge. The rooms that we saw... more

Spectacula setting, easy and relaxed, very large beutiguly decorated rooms, very sweet staff, outstanding beach facilities, spectacular golf course, great for families and couples for an easy vacation. Travel from NY is easy, despite connection. more

Canouan is probably 70% occupied by the Raffles Hotel, together with Donald Trump Casino and Trump houses. The balance has another hotel , the airstrip and the village/town, where the locals live and survive! The Raffles site occupies the top half of the island and has two wonderful beaches, protected by a coral reef. It can be windy on the... more

So where do we start at one of the top three hotel brands in the world? Surely they can't get it right all the time, especially in the Caribbean and in a relative backwater at that ? Good service is never a given around the islands, even in some of the more noted establishments, but here at Raffles Canouan in... more

Really great island hotel. Service is friendly and prompt. Food is excellent. The beaches... there are two (and pools) are fantastic! Took tennis lessons and yoga... great gym as well. Great for walking if you choose... or take your personal golf cart to the beach! What fun! Highly reccommended! more

This is much overdue review. Great Place ! We stayed at Raffles thanksgiving week of 2008 and had just a wonderful stay. It is a beautiful resort and island. While not the easiest to get to it was well worth the trip. The resort is set along 2 beautiful beaches and accomodations are all along the hillside over looking the... more

After failing to secure any of my desired choices in the Caribbean for Xmas, Amex suggested the Raffles. Only after booking it, I read the reviews here and was concerned. I am glad we went. We had 12 great days here. At this time of the year, most guests are repeat guests (although it is not a well known hotel).... more
