For 2 weeks in Jan. my husband and I shared the commanding view of the hills of Luis Pena Nature Preserve and smaller surrounding islands inhabited by turtles, rays and fish, from the red-tiled deck of our practical- but- plain cottage in the acacia woods. Except for the visiting hens and chicks, thrushes , mourning doves and iguanas it was... More

This is not a "hidden gem." I was able to snatch the last of the 12 cottages in early September for our New Year's stay. The place is popular for two good reasons: proximity to the Flamenco beach and excellent snorkeling from the private beach that belongs to Tamarindo Estates. Beach house is a nice amenity. I would not call... More

The view from our cottage porch was incredible! The most beautiful scenery and sunsets imaginable (you think you are in Tahiti). This is a gated property with several cottages high on a hilltop. There is a beach-house on the private shore with picnic tables, lounge chairs and bathroom facilities for guests only. The best part is that there is great... More

We stayed at Tamarindo Estates for 8 days and 7 nights. The cottages are spaced in such a way that we felt as if we were living in our own private beach house. Every morning we would cook breakfast and eat outside overlooking beautiful blue waters and lush scenery. Our host, Gayle, was very knowledgeable about the local attractions and... More

I like peace and quiet, and this place is perfect for that. Lots of space - stunning views (particularly from our room #101). The challenge in Latin America/Caribbean in general is figuring out how to avoid incessant loud music - there is none here. It is blissfully quiet. Beautiful pool and beach. But access is via one of the worst... More

I stayed at Tamarindo Estates for two nights over Memorial Day weekend. I am from Chicago and live a "city life." Therefore, I was initially apprehensive after reading some reviews stating that a stay here was too bare bones and not a pleasant experience. We had a wonderful time!! The location is amazing: our cottage had a balcony that overlooked... More

We went spring break, 2015. Water was too cold for me. This is a far cry from any hotel experience. After hauling your luggage up what seemed like 50 steps with no help, there isn't even a cold bottle of water in frig. or anywhere nearby. Tiny double bed in tiny bdrm. where the one window A.C. Unit is &... More

The management at Tamarindo Estates is truly sorry these two women were not happy, but this review is the first and only time we had any dialogue from them. This is truly disappointing, as we have caretakers on duty 24 hours a day to take care of guests' needs. There is no other lodging, or vacation rental, that we know... More

Tamarindo Estate Beach Cottages is situated on the very beautiful Tamarindo bay. It has an incredible private beach with amazing snorkelling and sea life. The pool area is also fantastic. The cottages themselves are basic but comfortable, with a kitchen, fans, air con etc. It can be quite humid in Puerto Rico and despite the fans and air con, it... More

Me and my boyfriend went to Culebra and stayed at Tamarindo Hotel for 3 nights! We had amazing experience here! We lived on the house up at the hill, the view is breath-taking! The house is very clean and cozy, the only downside is there's no blanket but only sheets on the bed, and the air condition is kinda cold... More

We just returned from 5 days in Culebra, and we had a fantastic time. We stayed all five nights at Tamarindo Estates in one of their cottages overlooking Tamarindo Bay and Cayo Luis Pena. We really enjoyed the simple, clean, somewhat remote accommodations for the beautiful surroundings, views and access to nearby beaches. Our unit was in a 3-unit cottage... More
