The location is great, no population beautiful beach, a nice souvenir market very close, beautiful rooms, comfy beds, nice bathrooms, big balconies, clean rooms, amazing maids are so kind and thoughtful. The food is amazing best resort food I've ever had. 2 buffets, 2 restaurants, and a snack bar. The staff is AMAZING I'm friends with almost all of them... More

My husband and I (early 50's) just returned from this resort a few days ago. We were there for a week. This was during the "off season" for most travellers. We've been to several countries, including Cuba, many times, but this was our first to Cayo Coco. We are not *5-Star* travellers, but budget travellers, like many of you. I'd... More

We just got back from a two week trip to this resort. I'm really not sure if we would go back. The beach was really nice (would be nicer if they hired someone to clean up the garbage.. straws and plastic cups weren't picked up on a regular basis) but other than that great beach! Lots of shade! We paid... More

Where were only a few good things about this resort which was that it had a nice aesthetic and the staff were kind and attentive. Other than that, the food was okay, the rooms were soggy a lot of the time with a lot of insects, resort looked run down in general, and beach was dirty.

We returned yesterday from a very enjoyable trip to the Colonial....our first visit to Cayo Coco.( June 28th.- July 5th.) We flew with Cubana, and have to say that both flights were really great, the planes were clean, the flight attendants quite friendly and efficient, and the little snack/meal on both flights was fresh, tasty and quite adequate, especially for... First off, this was our 15th time to Cuba, so let me explain something to fellow travellers in simple terms: THE MORE MONEY YOU PAY EQUALS INCREASED QUALITY! So, for ONLY $700 bucks each we flew WestJet Toronto to Cayo Coco, transferred in an air conditioned bus to The Colonial, enjoyed a large clean king size suite, and had all... More

Hotel Colonial is definitely deteriorating, being the very first resort on Cayo Coco, built in 1993. However, there are some good things about it. I enjoyed the rooms for their layout, although they were quite stinky (like wet towels?), I also really enjoyed the pasta/pizza at the little pizzeria. The buffet was not very impressive, their "beef" was more of... More

Went there with good friends for a week, we were debating for cuba or republic, anf what made us change our minds is the beach! Everyone says it, the beach in cuba, whever you are, is breath taking! So, this hotel for me was pretty good, we backpack alot so were used to not "exceptional rich hotels"... the rooms were... More

Ok. Let me start by saying, I am not looking for much when I go away other than having some well earned rest and relaxation. I travelled with my wife and 4 year old daughter in May. The room we had was great. Nice and cool. It was kept very clean and the chamber service was great as well. She... More

This was one of the worst places ive ever been in all my travels. This is the one and only resort i have ever left after two days. This place is like a ghost town. Ive been through it on travels on horse carriages, and buses and no matter what time of the year i go it always seems empty.... More
