returned a few days ago from the blau, dont listen to some of these reviews on here, its just people moaning at nothing, food was actually quite nice, in the day you could go to the pool bar and have cheese burger and chips or hotdogs, and there was also another pool bar on the other side of the hotel... more

We loved this resort, it was 15 minutes from the airport, clean, staff very friendly, grounds impeccable and well maintained. Security guards on premises a bit creepy, stare and stand, uncomfortable for women. The food was ok, but meats were nasty and chewy, stuck to veg and beans. Suggest bringing peanut butter, choc bars, cookies, maple sirop (theirs is awful) and... more

Me and my boyfriend visited the blau colonial cc in march 2009 for a week.Excellent relaxing break! The one thing i did moan about was the choice of foods for a vegetarian,i found myself living on salad and bread!! we spent every evening in the piano bar which was nice and the barman friendly. We sampled the nightclub twice, which was pretty... more

DON'T GO! Just returned 19/06/09.Food is absolutely atrocious, during our stay several guests including our selves came down with stomach bugs. Service terrible and hotel like a ghost town. Half the hotel was closed for refurbishment (since 2003!) and the remainder should be closed also! Constantly running out of drink! Pool was in state of direpair and full of crabs... more

Just returned from 2 weeks in Cayo Coco and thought it my duty to warn potential holiday makers of this hotel. Ok, first off just a few things about the hotel in general. It's the last in a series of 5 hotels on the same beach and is just 10 mins from the airport. (Flights are so infrequent so you... more

We stayed at the Blau Colonial Hotel in Cayo Coco in August last year and it was everything that we expected from a 4 star hotel. We made some lovely friends with whom we are still in touch. However, 2 things spoiled our holiday: The first was a member of staff, on more than one occasion, demanding £100 from me... more

This was my third time back at the Blau Colonial in Cayo Coco and I will go back again. I'll start by addressing what everyone's biggest complaint it.. The food! Cuba is NOT the place to go for food, but you won't starve and I can't say that the Mandarin here is much better! The cheese sandwiches that you can... more

My initial reaction on arriving was what the heck have i done and... more

we have never had such a huge hotel room!!the standard of cleanliness was high. All the staff were helpful, friendly and respectful. we would have had one of the best holidays ever if only there had not been so many mosquitoes - their season has just begin and carries on until September. despite the hotel grounds being sprayed twice a... more
