My wife and I have stayed at Sandcastle several times. The owners and service personnel have always been very courteous and provided excellent service. We had a wonderful time. You can read other reviews for all the amenities but there are some things potential guests may want to know. If this is your first trip to Jost van Dyke pay... more

"First one up and about turns on the coffee." Mornings at Sancastle on White Bay are so incredibly serene. Twenty steps to the beach...grab your chair for the day...get some coffee and soak it all in. Gently lapping waves...perfect white sand beach...a few overnight sailboats bobbing in the bay...St John in the distance. Breakfast with the other 10 guests (who... more

I am leary to write too much, as I am afraid too many people will swamp this place. There are only 5 rooms, and they are booked up in advance. I loved it here. The rooms are off the beach along a sandy path. A little tray of water sits outside your room to wash your feet in before you... more

This was our 4th year staying at Sandcastle. We feel like we are coming home when we plan our trip each year. Sandy and Roger make sure that you are welcomed at the dock, then you are taken to a little piece of paradise. Each cottage is so close to the water that the open air cottage lets you hear... more

Here we are, back in Maine after our 2nd stay at Sandcastle in Jost Van Dyke and we couldn't be happier with our vacation. It is, heaven on earth. We stayed in Beachfront Cottage #1 again and it was perfect. Clean, airy, clean, bright, did I mention clean? Every day our cottage was cleaned to the condition it was in... more

We first visited the Sandcastle in 2003, it was awesome. The owners at the time were amazing, friendly, accomodating. The food was great and the staff pretty good. This most recent trip was quite different. I got the distinct feeling we were not wanted, a bother. The new managers don't seem to care about their guests at all, they are... more

Let me first start by saying that I will continue to travel to Jost Van Dyke but I will NEVER stay at Sandcastle again. This was the 6th time my husband and I have been to Jost Van Dyke. We have stayed at the Sandcastle before with the old owners and have enjoyed ourselves tremendously. But the new managers are... more

Perhaps I anticipated a little too much after reading the other reviews on this site, but I expected really good things from the Sandcastle Hotel. Unfortunately, great things were not delivered. Yes, the beach is really great. The water is clear and warm and great for swimming and relaxing--just not from about 11 or twelve in the afternoon until the... more

Our stay at Sandcastle last year was very good, but the side effects of our stay have been devastating. Reviewer from the East Coast, USA We have gone to Sandcastle for 8 years and always had a wonderful time filled with great island people and a staff that was like coming home each year we arrived. This past trip in... more

Sandcastle (and Soggy Dollar) is the just an amazing place. It is really impossible to describe how magical and beautiful of a place that it is. Experiencing it is kind of like owning/riding a Harley Davidson ("If you have to ask you wouldn't understand..."). The water is a color of blue that can't be described, the beach is soft, white... more
