No word of a lie the beds in room 10 were the absolute most comfortable hotel beds either of us have ever slept in. The air conditioning was very welcome at the end of our day in the 29 degree sun. The front desk staff were friendly and kind. The service in the restaurant was excellent. Our server came over... More

Rooms were overall okay, sheets had to be changed because we found a stain. Captain's pub is nice to grab an afternoon drink but has no outdoor patio. Georgie's restaurant had some good items such as the fish and chips (which happen to be gluten free as well) and mussels, however the service is very slow. Dinner took well over... More

PROS -suites were very spacious and had a full kitchen -staff anticipated our need for a fan when the weather turned hot (like most places in Nfld, no A/C) -no problems with checking in/out CONS -hair in the bathtub when we arrived, but rest of suite was clean -pullout couch mattress was on its last legs -Georgie's Restaurant had limited... We happened on this place and loved it! Stayed one night in late May and wished we could stay longer. We had a lovely ocean view, and a relaxing hour in the pub. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent--the best seafood chowder we had on our entire trip! We could see icebergs from several points around town. I would recommend... More

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with another couple. Beds were comfortable but would have been nice to have a queen size rather than double. Bathroom was small and awkward, no shelves to put your toiletries on. Restaurant on site which is nice but service was slow both for supper and breakfast. Meals were excellent.

Frank, please accept our apology that we were not able to check your in earlier than our standard check in time (3 pm). During peak season it is not always possible to have rooms ready for early check-in. When you visit us again, just give Reception a call 24 hours before you arrive (7:30 am - 8:30 pm in summer)... We stayed here for 2 nights, wanting to see the charms of twillingate and do some walking. We arrived to staff hospitality not as warm as the rest of the island, bed-linen that was plastic synthetic. An an in house restaurant, Georges which had mundane service, expensively priced menu with the additional fare of giving us violent food poisoning made... More

The only things where I could see improvement is having some sort of information pamphlet in the rooms with the amenities and some contact numbers for the hotel. I am sure it was a isolated incident but there was a group that were up really late making a lot of noise so I mentioned it to the lady at the... More

I checked into the Anchor Inn on May 26, 2014. I happened to be on business in Twillingate, NL for the day and decided to stay for the night. The Anchor Inn is recently renovated to a very high quality standard. The owners Deborah and Wilma are very friendly and welcoming. During this time of year there are giant icebergs... More
