A slightly quaint but very nice hotel overlooking a small harbour. We could overlook the harbour from the upstairs lounge whilst enjoying a coffee. The food was good and the rooms were OK. Enjoyed this hotel as part of an Heatherlea birdwatching week.

The hotel is tired but the room was comfortable and clean if basic. Breakfast was fine with plenty of choice and was nicely presented. Even allowing for the need to ferry all the food from the mainland the dinner was very expensive although well cooked and presented. Receptionist and dining room staff were very helpful. Accommodation is up stairs which... More

Did not stay at Scarinish hotel but ate there 4 times during our two week holiday. Food was first rate well presented with a good choice. Helpings were generous and good value for money. Staff were first rate helpful and friendly

We stayed in the hotel for one night in March. We had no choice as there was no other accommodation available on the island. We have visited the island several times before and sadly this hotel continues to go steadily downhill. It is a great pity that the only hotel on this lovely island has been allowed to fall into... Based on TA reviews I had a Calmac chipper on the way, so only took dinner on one night out of a possible two - big mistake. The food was excellent (lots of compliments and no complaints over five or six choices for each course from our group). Service in the bar and restaurant was friendly, lively and assured. Crab... The staff at the Scarinish Hotel really made us feel welcome from the minute we got there until the minute we left. The food is excellent and I thought is was good value at £26 for 3 courses. The crab claws were wonderful and the Isle of Jura Coffee Ice Cream with whisky was so good and will live long... More

This hotel is not what I expected. Firstly there is no prices on the menu and when asked was given different reasons from different members of staff; all total nonsense with point like "we are working on a new menu at present", "the menus have not been printed yet" etc etc. I am vegetarian and asked if I could have... Had a terrible and pricey meal, not helped by a very sullen manageress. As stuck on the island because of bad weather and nowhere else to go, tried a take away one evening. Very poor fish and very pricey. My thoughts are that they are not getting the customers so buying inferior food and putting the price up. It's a... More

It's such a shame the location is fantastic but the hotel like so many have said before in the reviews is shabby. The staff once warmed up are fine you just need to make the effort first. I thinks maybe it's because they know the hotel is in need of investment and feel embarrassed so they are on the defence... More

Having read the reviews I didn't know quite what to expect. I wasn't disappointed. Had an excellent room, room 6 overlooking the bay and the distant isles. The breakfast was excellent in the four days I stayed at the hotel. I sampled the food in the evening once only and it was excellent. The locals in the bar were very... More
