Gigha Hotel is in a great location but having just recently been acquired by new owners it needs to get over what are hopefully teething problems. Our room was okay but the bed was quite uncomfortable .. probably new mattresses required. Chap in reception (probably new owner) spent all his time on a computer with his back to the customers... This is the third time we have stayed in the Gigha Hotel but certainly wont be the last. The rooms have all been spacious, clean and very comfortable. The food is great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is dog friendly and there is an excellent beer garden. 5 minutes walk takes you to a series of... More

We only stayed on Gigha for one night – that was a mistake we'll rectify in the future. We arrived the night before the hotel was half-shutting down for refubishment, so not a moment too soon. What a friendly evening! Wound up talking to so many different people I can't recall much of it. The food looked great although we... More

Very friendly place. This hotel is very welcoming and the staff are fantastic. Food is good and service excellent. I loved the relaxed atmosphere in the hotel and on the Island. Well worth a vist. I can't say anything negative about the hotel or island, will definitely return at some point.

The hotel is comfortable and has the facilities and standard that you would expect from a hotel run by the community, The restaurant lets them down with bare wooden chairs and very average food. Most disappointing and we ate elsewhere the next night.

On our first evening, after a long journey, we were told that there was no chef and a limited menu. after one hours wait, we were eventually told that my wife's choice of a hot meal had run out, so had the soup! She made do with a salad. About 30 mins later some diners came in who were known... More

We went with friends for an evening meal at the hotel on 3rd June. We were spoilt for choice! Fresh halibut, clams, mussels - a seafood lover's dream! The desserts were scrumptious too, the only problem by then was that we were rather full! A perfect way to end our stay on Gigha.

Gigha is a pretty unusual place, beautiful and peaceful. The hotel is just right, friendly and comfortable but not over fussy. The food was very good, we had mentioned we were vegetarian when booking and this was not overlooked. Lovely views over the bay from the room. Would absolutely recommend staying here.

A lovely wee walk from the Harbour. Stunning scenery from the beer garden where we enjoyed a lovely meal. I would recommend this wee hotel to anyone looking for a good meal a short ferry trip from the mainland.

An ideal place to stay on this unique island. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and my single room, though quite simple and unpretentious, gave me everything I needed - a comfy bed, the usual kettle etc, a decent bathroom with bath and shower and a real sea view! The bar meal I had wasn't anything special but the restaurant... More
