I stayed at the Gigha Hotel for 8 nights in late September/early October, which was the obvious choice to make. It is located centrally in Ardminish, the only village on the island, and can easily be reached from the ferry terminal. Now, the Gigha Hotel is an historic establishment which has been around since the 18th century and, consequently, has... More

We went there last month when it was raining, the ferry was late, the boiler had broken down, the room wasn't ready and Countdown was on the telly! The room was okay but what made it special was the wonderful views across the water. The bar was cosy with plenty of atmosphere and a good place to enjoy a few... More

Made a special detour to visit the island, the gardens and have Sunday lunch at the Hotel, having phoned ahead to check they were serving. Lovely day. Beautiful views from hotel garden benches across the Sound to Kintyre mainland. But disappointed by very limited menu (chips, burgers etc) Tuna mayonnaise sandwich advertised and ordered but were then told they had... More

Stayed for three nights at end of July. Lovely welcome. We have visited for food in past but have not stayed before. We chose the hotel as it has a number of rooms where dogs can stay. We travelled as a family and therefore had three rooms; top tip, if you don't have a dog and you are travelling alone,... More

As well as the hotel this island is well worth a visit as it is a unique experience. The 150 inhabitants bought the island at the turn of the 21st century and are making a fantastic effort to run it. Everyone including the local nurse who helped a seriously ill member of our party could not have been more obliging.... More

We stayed at the Gigha Hotel as a family of 7 for 4 nights. What sets Gigha and this community run Hotel apart from the norm is the friendliness of all the staff and local community, which was exceptional. OK the accommodation is slightly dated but it benefits from good sized rooms and great views. The quality of the food... More

Didn't know what to expect as special deal on and price reasonable. The rooms are basic but ok. Our room overlooked garden and was quite pleasant. Bar food and restaurant food good. Staff (mostly) very helpful and friendly.

We visit Gigha a lot and always go to the Hotel. With the Boathouse Cafe Bar being closed a lot we visited more and are really glad we did. We had good food from a menu which suited adults and kids. It was lovely to be made so welcome and to enjoy a few refreshments in the beer garden at... More

Lovely wee place, very friendly staff, nice food, however the inside is not very big for sitting and eating and as we had a large group we were forced to go outside and the sun was beating down, a few sun-umbrellas and this place would be brilliant. I'm not sure if there is separate dinning for people who have a... More
