Ok. The hotel was very basic, but it was very clean. The restaurant was the nicest one in the small town. If you do stay here, check out the Railway Station next door to the hotel and have a pint with the locals. The fish and chips are to die for. The crowd does get a little rowdy, but it's... more

I have stayed in the Campanile Hotel in Runcorn several times. It is one of very few hotels available in Runcorn, and just about the only sizeable hotel in the old town. We booked a 1 night stay at the Campanile when we visited Runcorn for a surprise birthday party on 25th January 2007. Our party consisted of 2 married couples, all of us are "40-something" We paid £41 per room per night, breakfast not included. 1st impression: 1960s. Stayed here whilst attending a family wedding at the town hall it was fine we had a motel style outside lodge thing. Power shower and bath, tea and coffee, hairdryer etc BUT nowhere to plug anything in so I couldn't use my hair straightners I'd bought.
