I am now a returning customer to the Mawney Hotel and will continue to be so. I spend a lot of time in hotels in the 50 to 60 quid a night range and this is the best i have found so far. It is just off the ring road in Romford so well situated for the town center. The... More

We booked a room here to combine trips into London with seeing family. The welcome was not exactly the warmest, with breakfast times a little hazy as it would depend on who and how many were in! The carpets throughout were garish, ugly and in desperate need of a clean. The room we had was spacious with a double bed... More

I stayed here as I was spending a weekend away in Essex, and travelling to Brentwood to do the towie tour, and considering Romford is not long on the train from Brentwood, this hotel was in a very convenient spot. It is about 15 minute walk from the station, but this isn't to much of a problem. The Brewery is... More

I recently spent 2 nights in a twin room. Reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned when booking but decided to give it a go anyway following a poor experience at the Travelodge a few months earlier. As mentioned in other reviews the hotel appears to have been recently renovated and all the “poor” reviews date back... More

I had to stay for two nights on business in Romford recently and looked for somewhere with an eye to price, rather than quality. Which is just as well. For the £50 a night, I received a double room with a really comfortable bed and breakfast thrown in. The bathroom was tiny as was the shower, but it worked OK.... More

I suppose it depends which room you get, there was only a choice of two rooms when we booked as the hotel was pretty full, the ground room was a double and very dark, they showed us one on the top floor (loads of stairs), again very basic, no wardrobe and the beds were uncomfortable. The hotel had changed hands... More

So we booked the hotel as no rooms left at travelodge - needed something cheap. Thought it was going to be pretty bad based on peoples previous reviews. Got there and was more than pleasantly surprised. It had had a complete makeover - hotel owner arrived quickly at door and explained all rooms had been redecorated at start of the... More

Stayed in this disgusting 'hotel' a few months ago because all other local hotels were fully booked. I found this place on a google search and believe me the photos that they had and the website was very different from the truth! We called around 8pm to see if there was a room avalible and the price. The man on... More
