Last minute booking. Externally looks 'seedy'. Internally dated, scruffy, musty smell. Greeted by very unwelcoming youth. Refused first room due to damp/musty smell and awful 'en suite'. Shown 2 others. Refused first as had to share lavatory, refused second as toilet seat filthy. Waited 1 hr for manager to come but never turned up. Payment taken from credit card before... More

Booked at last minute and arrived at 8.30pm after a 5.5 hr car journey. First impressions were that it looked like student digs from the 1970s. It was scruffy and the decor was very dated. The on suite was that bad that we didn't even attempt to use the shower as we would have ended up dirtier than before we... More

This appeared to be a landlord owned property hence the décor was not to do with the 'manager' who displayed many notices. We had no 7 the basement. The sheets smelt damp and felt damp. On investigation they were wet at the bottom. This is not acceptable. The toilet seat was broken, old and black. Nice lady run it and... More

I want to be clear from the beginning, I'm not reviewing in points about the decor. Yes it is dated. Yes my room had tangerine walls. It was probably the smallest room I have devastated. Fixtures and fittings and overall building work looks as though it was done by an amateur with no DIY manual. BUT and it's a big... More

Charming little bed and breakfast. Clean, tidy and well-equipped, spacious rooms. Lovely, kind of old-style furniture, I liked the atmosphere. Friendly staff, I believe it's family run, which works as a plus. Nice breakfast included, reasonably priced. Good value for money, definitely recommended if staying in the aria.

I stayed in room 7 which is half below ground level and half above. I chose this over the alternative as it has a double bed. When I entered the room I noticed that there was also a single bed. The mattress on the double was very hard so I chose to sleep in the single. There are some reviews... More

I was in the basement - mind the loose stair carpet. Ensuite Room 7 (see other review): the very small window was screwed shut, but I soon got it open for badly-needed fresh air. Bizarrely, there were 4 flat-screen tellies under the bed - all bust. Heating came on hesitantly for a while during the evening. Wobbly standard lamps. WiFi... More

This hell hole is 2 doors down from a brothel, so if you are visiting with children beware!!!! We were imprisoned in a on suit underground hole in the basement commonly known as room 7. The windows were nailed shut but ventilation was provided by the ill fitting makeshift communal fire door [plank of wood with a latch on] which... More

I had booked the room for 3 nights. When returning on the 2nd day I was told that my room had had to be given away to someone else during the day and that they had collected all my belongings from the room and moved them to an entirely different guest house that was a drive away. All of my... More

I stayed here for 4 nights in Sept. 2013 and used it as a base for exploring Kent, Surrey and Sussex. This B & B had the most reasonable rates of any of the fourteen B & B's or small hotels where I stayed during my month in England. It's located only a 10-minute walk from the train station and...
