Booked to stay 1 night at Beaumond Cross Hotel, Newark upon Trent 10/08/2014. 1 double room including breakfast £80.00. I paid a deposit of £40 by c/c, the balance due on arrival. I booked this hotel purely on the description given on the hotels own website which read very favourable. A few days later 04/08/14 I read the reviews of... More

Before I criticise I would like to point out that during the time we were there the staff were polite and friendly. They also arranged an early check in for us as we needed the room before a wedding. The rooms were basic and a little noisy but fairly clean. Breakfast was slow (despite it being a very small hotel... More

How accurate most of them where. I was on my way to Kent, my Mothers funeral, needed to stay over to break the trip. The website was actually in breach of the trade description act, no restuarant or dinner menu, just advice to go & eat at the White Hart Hotel, owned by the same people ! a small breakfast... More

I booked a single night stay en route to destination. Seduced by the web promise of home cooked meals in a 'Luxury' hotel ,I arrived after a 5 hour jouney to be met by pleasant young lady who escorted me up three flights of very steep stairs to the attic room, described as a 'penthouse.' There was no cup to... More

Room was rather tired, the bar smelt of drains and some of the other guests got drunk and stayed up all night, talking loudly, so not very much sleep; no staff seemed to be around to ask them to be quiet. When present, though, staff were friendly, and the breakfast was OK.

Recently stayed at this 'hotel' and could not be more dissappointed. Dirty hallway, very poor decoration, no wardrobe and sparse unco-ordinated furniture. Breakfast was also poor, no menu, no fresh fruit and awful atmosphere. The website was very inviting describing a luxury, comtemporary, comfortable hotel with stylish decor. I would not recommend to anyone, the owners need to look at... More

Me and my husband stayed here for two nights, cannot fault it, it was central to everything, very clean and modern rooms, we were in the attic room and it was very spacious , the breakfast was a bonus, very nice. Would defiantly recommend it .

The good - centre of Newark, on site parking, warm room The bad - poorly maintained - a bit dirty, overly friendly staff, awful damp smell in corridor, and damp in room. It all seems nice, but as its not big, I think it only has 9 rooms, and a big restaurant area - so it seemed a bit creepy... More

website lovely what a con. the only positive thing about this hotel are the lovely 2 members of staff. may i add these are not the owners. the owner needs to start thinking about their guests. rooms simple, boring and awful beds. sash windiows that you couldnt open unless propped with a cup. no atmosphere in the hotel as there...
