The room was vile and smelt like rotten egg which got worse every time the toilet was flushed. There were two huge flies in the room along with a couple of mosquitos. Pulled the bed sheets back to find blood and hair on the sheets. Asked to be moved to a different room. This new room had a rodent trap... More

Stayed here for work. Reception lady very helpful and pleasant. First room was in the roof and way too small so was moved to another. Better room but furniture falling to pieces. Excellent parking and close to the high street. Shame the standard of decor let it down. For the price you pay it's not too bad if u just... More

I really don't understand people complaining when they pay approximately £20/head for a bed, cooked breakfast & parking. The location is quiet & a short walk to Ilford station which goes directly to Stratford & Liverpool Street stations. I accept the décor leaves a little to be desired but when we paid £60 for a triple room on a Saturday... More

The company I worked for booked this on my behalf on 18th November.Whilst checking in the man on reception informed me I would be staying in room 13 and to be careful of the wet paint as the walls had just been painted. As I opened the door to my room I thought I saw something move out of the... More

Stayed at City Best on the last day of October, checking out on the 1st of November. We stayed in room 15 and got up early around 0800hrs as the wife was starting work 10 minutes walk away at 0915hrs that morning. She was in the shower 5 minutes before complaining that there wasn`t any hot water coming out. Using... More

Although it was reasonably priced and the staff hard-working and friendly, the hotel was 'tired' and we had several issues which, to be fair, they did their best to sort out. Positives - friendly staff, help- yourself breakfasts, reasonably priced Rooms tidied daily and fresh towels left out Off-road parking Negatives - noisy, doors didn't fit or open properly Drawers... Good points are the cooked breakfast and free parking. It is also near to the underground, with the bus around the corner. The negatives are many, the breakfast room which is tightly packed and you may have to wait your turn. The actual bedroom is small, and the windows were not properly fitted with the result that you cannot locked... More

Stayed here at the beginning of July as it was the cheapest I could find with reach of the City. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly for check in and check out. Considering the price the room seemed very clean. However, although this is a budget hotel and the on site staff are good, there is no excuse for... More

We stayed here on our last day in London as the previous hotel (The Ridgeway in Chingford) was full and we couldn't extend our booking. I was travelling with my husband a my 5yo son. The area around the hotel is residential, so it's a bit quiet. Room was OK (we had room 13, one big bed, one small bed),... More
