We booked this hotel only because all B&Bs were full in the area and we were attending a function. DO NOT, WHATEVER YOU DO, BOOK A ROOM HERE. We checked in the first room, the tap wasnt working, changed rooms, the door didnt lock, changed room yet again, the window didnt open, sense of humour failure at this point -... More

My family stayed at the Overcliffe as an emergency stopover due to our car breaking down. We found the staff to be very helpful, waiting up until 04:30 whilst we arrived by taxi. My daughter left her favourite teddy bear in the room, and Trevor was very happy to post it to us after we called to ask for help.... More

I had a room (no21) booked for me by and agent. After checking on tripadvisor I was a little worried to say the least. However upon arrival, checkin was fast.. Not too sure about paying up front though! This is not a franchise, this is indeed a quaint little hotel located in the center of town. Pubs and restaurants walking... More

With stuffed foxes, springs coming through the mattress, dirty bedding, no breakfast cereals OR even hot drinks, or menu, only one switch for the light in the bedroom, very much overpriced accommodation rates/bed and breakfast; this place resembled 'Fawlty Towers', and should be recommended to Alex Polizzi (The Hotel Inspector), for consideration? Uncomfortable, unclean, unsafe, loud music until the early... More

A lovely hotel with character. Very friendly staff who go out of their way to give good service. I had a lovely room en suite overlooking the garden. The room and shower room were clean. Lovely snow white towels and sheets. Bed was comfortable. Very adequate lighting and temperature control for room comfort. Plenty of hanging space in wardrobe. Generous... More

We fortunately only stay there for one night. The room was dirty and very cold. Windows were steamed up and the Toilet and shower dirty and the hot water was cold. If you are planning to go there please take one good advice and never sit down on the toilet, big change that you will get an disease. (See attached... More

Stayed a night in March 2013. The hotel we felt was in need of updating. The bedroom and en-suite were clean but tired. The heated towel rail did not work; the thermostat was wrapped in adhesive tape! We chose it because it was near Ebbsfleet International, we left feeling it was not good value for the money.

I don't know which hotel the negative feedback bods come from suspect they work nearby. The hotels great the staff can't do enough as was my experience with the owner. Clean and honest, foods great. Instead of moaning why can't the negative people deal with people face to face and speak about their dislikes most are easily remedied and can... More
