We stayed here on a Friday night with our two small children. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by extremely friendly staff and shown to our room. The bedrooms are spacious, immaculately clean and elegantly decorated. They're also really well thought out with great attention to detail (great tea tray, plenty of toiletries etc) and lovely fluffy white... More

A business colleague and I stayed here while attending the Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards 2014 nearby. We were given a warm welcome by the young lady on duty and everything was explained to us. The same member of staff also arranged a taxi for us. My room was modern, warm and very comfortable. The bed was excellent with... More

Just returned from our second Sunday carvery lunch at the Lowther Hotel and it was excellent. There was a choice of turkey, beef, pork and ham accompanied by at least eight vegetables. The meats were tender and succulent and everything was hot. The staff were pleasant and attentive and the surroundings were comfortable and tasteful. We shally be going again... More

A traditional hotel with comfortable rooms at reasonable price. Hotel location could have been busy once but now the hotel is the only attraction in the road. Hotel has private parking but loads of parking on the road and also in front of the hotel. Hotel breakfast is excellent, dinner is best if the head chef would be present. Hotel... More

Attended New Years Eve function at 'The Lowther`. What a great night out. Staff, led by hosts Howard and Julie, were attentive and friendly, entertainment was lively, New Orleans style buffet amazing, value for money great. Thanks to all for a wonderful time.

Held my first business meeting at the Lowther Hotel this week and have to say how impressed I was. The hotel itself is a beautiful building and decorated to a high standard. Great impression for 1st time attendees. The room used for our meeting had all the facilities we needed and the staff were second to none in the service... More

First stayed here in Feb 2011 and came back as I have relatives in the town. When you drive down Aire Street, it's impossible to believe that this lovely hotel is there, but it is, so keep the faith. Had a different room this time, room 205, which was lovely, but gosh, it was hot! Therefore, I made sure all... More

Stayed here overnight on the 5th October 2012 and the staff could not have been more helpful. When we couldn't get any taxis to take us to a dinner the staff used their own cars to ferry us across town. The room was very clean and airy and the breakfast was great. Many thanks to all

This hotel is beautifully restored to the former glory of the Principal building in Goole. It is full of fascinating industrial and local history, and worth visiting. The area can seem a bit threatening, but I experienced no problems when there, and enjoyed the opportunity to walk through the adjacent dockland. While there, the Dock and Maritime Museum is well...
