We used this hotel as a reception venue after renewing our wedding vows and were absolutely overwhelmed at the food, service, hospitality and friendliness of the owner and his staff. Nothing was too much bother and everyone went out of their way to make everything perfect. We stayed overnight in one of their en-suite rooms which was very clean and... More

I was introduced to the Lowther by top local lawyer Shaun Pinchbeck of Heptonstalls. Our business lunch proved to be a cut above the average fare with superb roast duck and excellent fresh salmon. If you're in town and looking for a business lunch or evening dinner date this is definitely a Goole Keeper.

We visited The Drake last bank holiday. The food was excellent, everything was homemade, chips, soup the lot. We have been today and what an absolute disappointment. The chips and onion rings could have come from a famous frozen food store. The burger was so soggy it could only be eaten with a knife and fork. The salad with the... More

So when you drive down the street to this hotel you do have to wonder what your getting yourself in for, but don't worry you'll find a fantastic hotel at the end, with fantastic food (gourmet like!), warm comfortable rooms and helpful staff who even show you to your room! There's even a cocktail bar if your that way inclined.

I stayed at The Lowther on Friday night. All staff are friendly and efficient, the hotel is immaculately clean and I accessed the hotel easily at 4am through a speaker system. The room was furnished to a very high standard; the bed was so comfortable that I contemplated staying an extra night!

Well! This is a real find. I don’t know Goole well, but my brief acquaintance with it suggest it’s not on the tourist trail for people in search of Quainte Olde Englande. It’s Britain’s largest inland port, and as such is heavily industrial, so you don’t really expect to find a building as gorgeous as this, nor as beautifully done... More

Well, this is a little gem and no mistake! We stayed over as we were out for a friend's 30th at the fabulous Pizza Italiano (owned by the same guy as the hotel we found out later!). I have to admit, when we came out of Goole station and walked down, we were a little apprehensive as Goole didn't exactly... More

I went to the lowther with my wife and some friends and having paid for a meal and disco, we were looking forward to a good night out, what we got was excellent value for money and a fantastic night out, well done to all the staff I could not fault anything.

I must congratulate the staff at The Lowther for their friendly and professional attitude, making it a really enjoyable experience to dine there. Afternoon tea is fantastic, a real luxury experience with good food well-presented at a venue which is so stylish and comfortable. The Lowther succeeds in giving the personal touch alongside a professional service. And the food is... More

I've visited the lowther on three occasions. One for a Sunday dinner - As a veggie it was tremendous. I had a specially made pasta dish plus the Sunday Roast (minus the meat) as an addition. Excellent quality food and lovely staff. The manager has it to a tee, very well trained staff and ambience. Two other times I have... More
