stayed here in March this year.Resteraunt is the nicest part of this place as it's been refurbished.Pub is what you'd expect from a pub, however, the rooms are a bit neglected.Bit shabby, lock on door didn't work nor was fixed after informing the owner(who is a nice person),tv that was installed didn't work either.Breakfast was mostly non-existant,tea/toast/cereal.Abit more focus on the rooms... We stayed at the Woodlands Hotel in one of the larger rooms with an en-suite bathroom, they do smaller rooms with seperate bathroom facilities but I liked having my own bathroom. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and the amount we paid to stay there. The room was very clean and well maintained, with tea and coffee... More

Before going to the Woodlands, we read some bad reviews about the hotel, but the reservations were made, so 'what could we do?'. However when we went there, it was not at all like the reviews. Firstly, the hotel is under new management by the most friendliest guys who beyond the call of duty to satisfy their guests. THERE IS... More

When I booked the rooms at the Woodlands I was looking for a basic, clean, no frills room with a comfortable bed, en suite shower and breakfast. Not too pricey and preferably a bar for a pint after we arrived. Sounds relatively easy - well it wasn't. The staff were quite polite and friendly, if a little embarrassed, at not... More

I stayed at the Highlands in Blackburn for one night, after arriving on a flight into Manchester from the US. I was at the hotel by 11am, and the man at the bar kindly allowed me to check in early, as my room was ready to go. I had a single room which was fairly roomy, and the bed was... More

Our stay was unbearable so we checked out......The Hotel management have more focus on the operation of the Pub downstairs....The room was okay, however, many items were faulty, for example the TV aerial socket was missing as were the batteries for remote....We complained immediately after check-in but nothing was done to resolve the issue....Several hours later we returned at 10:30pm...
