When I booked the rooms at the Woodlands I was looking for a basic, clean, no frills room with a comfortable bed, en suite shower and breakfast. I stayed at the Highlands in Blackburn for one night, after arriving on a flight into Manchester from the US. I was at the hotel by 11am, and the man at the bar kindly allowed me to check in early, as my room was ready to go. I had a single room which was fairly roomy, and the bed was... more

Our stay was unbearable so we checked out......The Hotel management have more focus on the operation of the Pub downstairs....The room was okay, however, many items were faulty, for example the TV aerial socket was missing as were the batteries for remote....We complained immediately after check-in but nothing was done to resolve the issue....Several hours later we returned at 10:30pm... more
