Great Hotel with a few small things, no tea/coffee in third floor rooms. No air conditioning in the rooms, which means in summer it gets very hot. Great restaurant, Very clean rooms and bathroom. The Bar is a little small, especially when it is busy.

We chose this hotel as a base for our day trips. It is pretty centrally located. The bird park is nice and the birds didn't bother or sleep as others have said. The clean room is relatively large. The beds were OK, not more. Watch out in the summer, there is no A/C. Bathroom spacious with tub and shower stall.... More

This hotel is clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet is great - it has a wide selection of choices. For dinner the restaurant is just ok, but I suppose acceptable for Netherland's standards.

Rooms very large, after check in you have to cross footpath to to room block, rooms nice, a bit dated overall but nice. No complaints, good nights sleep. Will be back again next time in the area. Staff very helpful and bar staff likewise. Likewise all drinks well made

This is by far the best hotel in town (although there are not much other hotels in Alphen). Good service and nice rooms. The only minor was that there is not an A/C in the rooms so it was a bit warm dutring the night. You can open a door to a balcony but everyone can enter that balcony, so... More

Last weekend we celebrated the 90th birthday of my cousin. All his children, grandchildren and their children were invited to come and celebrate his birthday. The weather was a little bit disappointing, however the hotel was a pleasant surprise. The hotel contains 3 buildings, the reception which is separate from the rooms and the restaurant is about 75 m apart... More

We spent one night in the Van der Valk Hotel which had a big comfortable bathroom and a balcony. The breakfast-which was served in an other building-was great ! Many sorts of coffee, fresh fruit salad, ham, cheese and salmon-everything you want. And the best was the free entrence to the bird zoo,a wonderful park with so many kinds of coloured... More

Our stay at Van Der Valkyrie was an extremely pleasant one. Our room (210) was very large as was the bathroom for European standards. The room was very clean and every day it was the same, excellent. The restaurant was very good also with great food and a very courteous staff. I have absolutely no negative comments for this fine... More

I booked this by accident as I was searching for hotels near The Hague and made the mistake of not paying attention to Expedia which classed this as 'near'. But, saying that, it was great, extremely reasonably priced and free entrance to the attached bird park, which turned out to be really good. This would make an ideal base for... More

The hotel is a bit dated but it does have all you need. The twist is the bird park which is amazing as you do not realise you are in an industrial area by a motorway. This is the second Van der Valk hotel on this road trip and I would highly recommend them. Their restaurants are like uk harvester.... More
