I stayed here for a few days while visiting relatives. Rooms are small, basic & functional & clean. TV has satellite channels - so great. Comfortable beds. The Golden Tulip Hotel in Alphen aan den Rijn is a disappointment from start to finish. The hotel lobby is always full of cigarette smoke. The restaurant does not open until 7:00 AM for breakfast, which is rather sparse. There is so much cigarette smoke in the evenings that I cannot use the restaurant - I ordered room service. Stayed at the Golden Tulip for a night while on business in the Netherlands. Have stayed at a Golden Tulip hotel before and these are mostly 3 star quality hotels, in standard comparable with the Best Western chain of hotels. Rooms are basic but functional. I found this to be a great place to stay. The room was tastefully decorated and of a good size. Facilities were good. They have a good restaurant and a very cozy bar with a fire. Friendly atmosphere. Rcommended to all. more

zimmer überhitzt durch sonneneinstrahlung.keine klimaanlage. 10 min. vor tür gestanden, weil niemand nach 6 mal klingeln öffnete. frühstücksbuffet mangelhaft, abgegessen und nicht erneuert um 9.30 uhr, für 17 euro. minibar leer, keine getränke auf dem zimmer und keine snacks. grossbaustelle direkt neben dem hotel. more

om 2120 uur was geen koffie meer te krijgen omdat " de machine al schoon gemaakt was". Dit werd ons verteld door een zeer onbeschofte bar dame. De volgende ochtend aan de sub manager verteld en zij was het met mij eens dat dit niet kon. more
