This hotel is ideally located in a remote setting. Big on nature for walking and hiking. The hotel feels like an upscale family inn, which it is. They will make you feel welcome. Take full advantage of the restaurant. This is the best food we've had in Europe. Enjoy! more

My wife and I greatly enjoyed staying here. It is one of the prettiest places we have ever stayed at with beautiful flowers all around. One of hte things which makes it special is the "hands on" aporoach of the owners, Rudy and Daniela Pazeller and their son, Gian. Rudy is not only the owner but an excellent chef. An... more

My wife and I spent two days in the Chaste in mid-June. Our stay was wonderful in every way. The staff was outgoing and friendly, the room beautiful and spacious, the owners welcoming and helpful. Everything about the hotel reflects not only Swiss attention to detail, but the small touches that make an excellent hotel into a superb one. My... more

My wife have travelled extensively throughout Europe and especially the lakes and mountains for 30 plus years. We use Karen Brown and the Ralais & Chateaux books as guides. Our visit to Schlosshotel Chaste, Tarasp (Sparsels), Switzerland September 26-29 was the absolute very best in wonderful room accommodations, quality dining and the owners, family and staff helpful in any way... more

The Schlosshotel Chaste is a wonderful spot to stay in the Lower Engadine. It is a 500 years of history of one farming family transformed into today’s beautifully restored hotel still run by the same family. Their greeting is warm and sincere and they are sharing their legacy with us as their guests. Mr and Mrs. Pazeller and their son... more

An otherwise excellent week-long stay at the Chaste was tainted by poor service and cold treatment from the owner, Mr. Pazeller. My family, including eighteen-month old twins, stayed in a suite with separate room for the toddlers equipped with two cribs (costing 70 SFr./day extra). Aside from the room set-up, the hotel made few efforts to make our stay with... more

This is the best it gets in the Alps: a secret hideaway Relais & Chateaux, proudly operated by the amazing Pazeller family; Rudolf, the owner, his wife Daniella and their two sons Roberto and Gian-Andrea did everything in order to qualify for Relais & Chateaux membership a few years ago, and have never let their guard down since. Ask if... more

One of the best hotel experiences my wife and I have had in Europe. If you want to see a piece of Europe "off the beaten path”, without sacrificing luxury in terms of accommodations and cuisine, this is the spot. Tarasp is a magical place deep in the Engadine valley. The hotel is immaculate, the food is superb, and the... more

This picture-perfect inn has been run by the same family for 500 years, and that's just about the time it takes to make anything this wonderful. The cuisine is the most beautiful and delicious we have ever had; the rooms enchanting and the scenary breathtaking. The Ptzeller family works from dawn to dusk to make this a place you will... more
