The hotel is good, old building, nice rooms in chalet style, the rooms are clean, bathroom clean and spacious. The restaurant offers a mixed choice of local and international cuisine. The prices compared are quite high compared with the quality and other regions in Switzerland. The service was poor and chaotic, things were forgotten despite that the restaurant was not... More

Our stay coincided with new management starting at this charming small hotel, so the restaurant has not yet re-opened. But it looks like it is going to be great, the new manager Serge is a successful local restauranteur, and the traditional old chalet and its setting are really delightful. We could have done without the scented candles in the corridor... More

We have stayed for one night in February 2013 for the annual air balloon festival. Upon our arrival, there was nobody to welcome us, and I MEAN NOBODY.......There was a message hung upon the hotel's door saying that we could call a mobile number in case no one was at the reception. Well, guess what?! No one answered the mobile... More

Yes, it was fun to read these reviews. I can confirm everything (negative) about the proprietress. Our tour company used to use the hotel: lots of very authentic architectural charm, and the food is quite good. However, I just couldn't deal with Mme Bon anymore. To be fair and understanding, she may just be a bit off her rocker. As... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in mid May. The hotel was very quaint, though it's old (over 200 years) so it's got very creaky wooden floors. The bathroom for the room next door was right up against the wall for our bed and it was a bit noisy when people were in there- for example we... More

Stayed here many many times over the 70's and again more recently. Has changed owners from Curtis Wilmot Allistone when we started staying there, to unknown owners how appear to have allowed the service to drop considerably. Others than that, the chalet remains a beauty and definately worth a stop-over for a couple of days. Beautiful old wooden room and,... More

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Hostellerie Bon Accueil on the 18th and 19th August 2009. We were in the lovely Swiss town of Chateau D'Oex specifically for a balloon flight. This was our second visit to the town, having travelled here and stayed in this same hotel back in 2005 (the weather was against us for the balloon... More

We went for just one night with the kids. We had booked a duplex which slept 4, 2 of which in a small attic. The room was OK, but not better than this. The breakfast was very poor, with no croissants or rolls, no cheese, just the Migros M-budget salami, and even the orange juice was not a real juice.... More

This is a wonderful place to stay in the Gstaad valley if you can overcome the rude, unfriendly service and stay in the old chalet. Our room, # 16, was beautiful: big, cozy, very clean, it had a beautiful view, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large and functional...SO romantic! The main, old chalet is just a gem... We were looking forward to staying at this hotel for 3 days as we had read good reviews. However on arrival we found our room to be in a separate Chalet from the main hotel but which was accessed through a large dismal underground car park. This did not start our stay on the right note. The room was OK except the bathroom...
