The hotel is good, old building, nice rooms in chalet style, the rooms are clean, bathroom clean and spacious. The restaurant offers a mixed choice of local and international cuisine. Our stay coincided with new management starting at this charming small hotel, so the restaurant has not yet re-opened. But it looks like it is going to be great, the new manager Serge is a successful local restauranteur, and the traditional old chalet and its setting are really delightful. We have stayed for one night in February 2013 for the annual air balloon festival. Upon our arrival, there was nobody to welcome us, and I MEAN NOBODY.......There was a message hung upon the hotel's door saying that we could call a mobile number in case no one was at the reception. Yes, it was fun to read these reviews. I can confirm everything (negative) about the proprietress. Our tour company used to use the hotel: lots of very authentic architectural charm, and the food is quite good. However, I just couldn't deal with Mme Bon anymore. Stayed here many many times over the 70's and again more recently. Has changed owners from Curtis Wilmot Allistone when we started staying there, to unknown owners how appear to have allowed the service to drop considerably. We went for just one night with the kids. We had booked a duplex which slept 4, 2 of which in a small attic. The room was OK, but not better than this. This is a wonderful place to stay in the Gstaad valley if you can overcome the rude, unfriendly service and stay in the old chalet.
