We stayed at the Inn for a few nights as part of a trip to Virginia and enjoyed both the beauty of the restored 1820's building and the hospitality of Jim & Janet who made us very welcome. The location is out of Charlottesville but there are plenty of amenities nearby and we had a pleasant country road 25 minute drive to Monticello. It was peaceful and relaxed with an excellent and varied breakfast, and Jim gave us very good advice on local trips or recommendations for dinner. more

My husband and I recently spent 4 nights at the Inn at the Crossroads, about 8 miles south of Charlottesville, Virginia, in North Garden. We found the accommodations to be delightful. It is, I believe, on the national register of historic places, being built in 1820.
The innkeeper, Jim, is gregarious and full of valuable information about the area and fun things to do.
The breakfasts are delicious and served family style. We looked forward to meeting our fellow guests each morning over the breakfast table, including 78 year old newlyweds! If you don't feel like interacting with the other guests of the inn, this isn't the place for you!
The surrounding area is utterly picturesque, and not overly developed as the area north of Charlottesville seems to be. Just driving the country lanes is a joy.
Staying at the Inn at the Crossroads was a delight.
One note: The room we stayed in did not have a hair dryer. I should have checked before arriving!
