I'd discovered this hotel on a previous visit and wanted to go back and stay. We did for one night unfortunately it was a Monday and the restaurant and bar were closed. Not a problem only around five minutes walk to Ubeda's monumental centre which is fab. La Posada is full of ancient implements, quirkiness everywhere and I loved the... More

We stayed there in 2012 for one night , had been driving hard from Barcelona and going to Seville got lost in Ubeda and was found by the owners son at some traffic lights and asked if we were looking for a hotel, by him, we said yes and followed him to the hotel and wow what a surprise this... The hotel is a bit too quaint and quirky for me. They were very friendly but spoke little English. Our room had a four poster bed and was fine but over the bar and noisy. We had dinner there the first night. It was an experience, we were the only two people in the big restaurant . The weather was... More

We stayed here for one night in December and thoroughly enjoyed it. Owner Miguel and staff were really lovely and went out of their way t make us feel really comfortable and welcome. The best part was our evening, which we spent in the hotel bar. Classic tapa served with every drink. I would thoroughly recommend the place to anyone.

Chose hotel because of its nearness to the bus station from where you can take the short journey over to sister town Baeza. In fact seeing both in the same trip is a must. The family running this place have made it very homely and although my Spanish is really not good enough both Miguel and Lisa made me at... More

If you want a hotel that is cookie-cutter perfect, this is not the place for you. But if you want a genuine taste of Spain, where 3 generations of family gather round the table for dinner at 10 p.m., where marching bands practice down your street and you can wave at them from your balcony (and they wave back), where... We only had dinner there and the restaurant was very quiet. Although weak in understanding English the staff was friendly and helpful. The food on the other hand was a different matter. Startere were promising although salad was extremely cold (had it just come out of a freezer?). Main dish meal courses were terrible, poor quality stringy, tough, greasy pork... More

La Posada de Ubeda is different. It is, in fact, a hotel, a bar and a restaurant, all run by the same people, which is at the same time an agricultural museum. While not in the centre of the old town, it is within an easy ten minute walk to the main square of the historical city and within five... More
