We stayed two nights in May and it was wonderful. We had the panoramic room with hot tub. For a Casa Rural it was really special. Fabulous views, lovely comfortable bed and huge shower. The breakfast was excellent and you could go to the kitchen to make tea or coffee. The only thing that would have improved would have been... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute! The casa rural has it all: splendid views, we had a very nice and clean room with a big terrace, we saw a beautiful sunset in the morning, had a good breakfast with plenty of choice, and the last night we had quite an amazing dinner with lots of different... Stylish and quiet hotel which feels remote, but is very accessible. We stayed 3 nights in El Gitano with wonderful views looking down the valley. 7km drive down the track to Cala del Plomo, but a better beach is Cala de Enmedio which is a 20 minute walk from del Plomo - much cleaner and quieter and we often had... We chose this casa rural because it looked like away from everything (and because of the jacuzzi). Before going we were advised that we would be alone, as it was low season and there were no other guests, perfect for us. We went by car (mandatory as it's a 10min drive from civilisation) and had no trouble finding it using... More

We booked 4 nights in the Almendra ( casa rural suite) to wind down after a couple of stressful months. Our GPS did not function, but we could find the case rural nonetheless in the pitch-dark of the national park. Although the casa rural normally does not serve dinner on Sunday evenings, they did organise for us dinner, even if... More

Lovely, small, quiet, modern hotel out in the countryside but not too far from Agua Amarga. You definitely need a car to get here. Really lovely surroundings, great pool, quiet gardens. We had a room called El Gitano which had a whirlpool bath and a huge window that looked out on to the countryside around. Fantastic. Beautifully furnished room with... More

Agua Amarga has long been our favourite destination in Spain, far away from mass tourism, 'Traditional Sunday Roasts', 'brits abroad' and kareoke, where you can immerse yourself in the laid back Spanish way of beach life. But drive a few miles outside the town and turn down a rocky dirt track and you will find THE perfect haven of peace... More

we stayed for 2 nights in august - the hotel was very very very remote with no restaurant which meant driving to the nearest town (10 min ) drive. There were lots of flies and mosquitos - breakfast was sparse and we felt considerable ripped off at 125 euro per night after paying only 100 euro at the 5 star... More

2. La Almendra y El Gitano This accommodation was everything it claimed to be on the website. It was quiet with beautiful scenery and the owners were more than nice and very welcoming. Our room was lovely and spacious and was cleaned every day with fresh towels if requested. We have recommended this accommodation to friends who will visit in... More

We booked this hotel hoping to find a nice romantic little place from what we saw on the various promotional internet sites. While our GPS could not find the hotel and we had to call around to find the place in a remote corner off a unpaved road, we did still believe that this could fill in our expectations when... More
