The city of Suzdal is unique in that the buildings must not be higher than 2 storeys so most of the houses were of old design and was quite pretty. The hotel look more like an American ranch which was quite unexpected. There were many buildings in the complex and they were predominantly made of woods. The reception building also... More

This is a rustic, family-oriented resort for people who speak Russian and have access to a car, or unfortunate group-tourists who are booked into it by their travel company. You need to be able to speak Russian because none of the staff speak English. I was one of an English-speaking tour group that were stranded here for the night (Travel... More

Some reviews made me skeptical before our trip but I was happily surprised. I think people tend to forget where they actually are, the environment, and doing so compare their stay with hotels in Moscow or other cities. You cannot compare the village of Suzdal (no MacDonald's, no western shop, managed to preserve a true russian atmosphere) with Moscow or... More

The most appealing feature of this hotel complex is one of hotel buidings built as log castle and a lot of different vaporariums mainly russian style. Everithing else is decent but not impressive. Be ready for rough interior reflecting the style of a log hut though actually it's quite interesting. The territory of the hotel complex is often used for... More

We went for a weekend from Moscow to Suzdal. Beside that it was too cold and the drive took much longer than expected ... It was very nice! The hotel was accommodating. The rooms a little bit over heated - but better than the other way around. We had one of the family rooms with two bed rooms and a... More

This was the worst hotel on my Russian trip. On arrival we were informed that there was no hot water in the hotel or the entire region. This is an annual maintenance occurrence but they did not think to let us know and there was no offer of a solution (maybe a kettle or something). The room I stayed in... More

We stayed in the hotel for one night only. Well, it's really very nice place built like a medieval wooden castle. Rooms are good but they were cold and heating was turned off. So we used air conditioner to make it warmer. The hotel is not a 4star because they have no service required for that. The breakfast is very... More

The hotel is a good one, there are two blocks of rooms, generally tidy and well furnished. The special thinks worth to be visited for non-russian tourist are: Russian Sauna that can be experenced if booked in advance, in 11 small isbas around a small pond: worth just to be visited. The reconstruction of a small 11th century Slvas village,... More

Stayed there three years ago, hope this review will be accurate. As another reviewer wrote - the front desk isn't very helpful, but that doesn't spoil the overall experience. The walls are covered with pictures of famous russian actors that visited the hotel (we didn't see anyone though))), and you're under the impression that you're in a place for the... More

I spent only one night at the Goryachie kluchi. It has a fascinating charme, thaks to its wooden structure and rooms. We didn't try the Banya, which is definitely too expensive. The breakfast was quite good, although you have no choice, but they bring you all they have. The main drawbacks are: they harldy speak any language but Russian, and... More
