We were there at the end of May and had amazing time. Breakfast was good and could eat different vegetarian option every day (we stayed for three days). Room was massive and we even got one with sea view without extra booking (stayed on sec floor). Staff is amazing, let us borrowed towels to go to the beach, we could... More

This hotel is in a great location on the beach front with miles in both directions of the hotel. We hired a car to go to nice restaurants in the evening and shops during the day. The hotel/area is not very touristy with very few people speaking English which made it a little difficult. The room in the hotel was... More

This is a beach hotel. Easy access to the old historical center of both Gaia and Port areas by car. Confortable but one of the queens bed was shabby. Nice breakfast with three kinds of fruit, yogurt and many breads and cakes.

I stayed at The Golden Tulip Hotel in Gaia, Porto, Portugal for Easter 2015. OK, it was a busy time, but even more reason to make sure staffing levels were good. I must have waited about 40 minutes before I could check in at Reception with one man manning it. When I finally got the key to my room it... More

I stayed at this hotel for a romantic weekend with my girlfriend. At the time I booked the hotel it was still being sold as "Casa Branca Beach and Golf", then I understand it has been rebranded as a Golden Tulip Hotel. When I booked I paid extra to get an ocean view, and one week before the arrival emailed... More

having booked on the tuesday and arriving 2 days later i was greeted by a lady at reception who was not helpful or happy... the room itself was nice, spacious with the smallest television set i have ever laid eyes on. The room was clean, view was obstructed by building works in the next block which was a shame as... More

We booked this hotel for a 4 night break before checking the reviews, and to be honest were dreading coming as this hotel received so many bad comments. First impression when entering isn't good the signage at the front of hotel is broken and the red carpet on the front stairs has seen better days. Our room was clean and... More

This is a horrible dirty hotel. There is a permanent awful smell in the reception, the rooms and hallways. The view from the dirty balcony is a building under construction and a tennis court not used anymore. We were supposed to stay there 3 nights but cancelled the reservation immediately and moved to Porto. It takes 30 minutes to get to... More

The Rooms of this 1950 design are big and airy and all come with a Balcony with a marvellous view of the Beach. The Pool can be a little bit on the fresh side in terms of Temperature which is the same as the Jacuzzi

This Hotel stays quite near the Atlantic Ocean water line with huge stones, sandy beaches and roaring waves. In August it was not safe to swim because of giant waves, but it was nice to walk along the water line. The personnel of the Hotel is very friendly. From a large balcony we enjoyed seeing the changing Ocean. Not far... More
